Ms. McNabnay's Weekly Newsletter
May
1, 2012
Dear
Kindergarten Parents,
This is my last newsletter to you for the year, and I would like to thank
all of you for your support. It was
only with your help that your child’s year was a successful and happy one.
I greatly appreciate everything you have done, and I am proud to have
taught your child. May God bless
you all!
This next week will be an unusual one for your child, as our normal
routine will again be non-existent! There
are many things to do this week, and all the children will be participating!
During this week, your child will be:
1.
Exchanging
snacks and saying good-by to Buddies;
2.
Enjoying
Olympic Day on Wednesday!!
3.
Learning
more about time in Math;
4.
Packing
up cubbies and the many items in the room!
5.
Cleaning
cubbies and bringing home journals, workbooks,
papers, etc.;
6.
Going to Mass on Friday and participating in the awards ceremony.
HOMEWORK: Monday-Math: pp. 117-118, follow directions on bottom of each
page. Tuesday, Wednesday and
Thursday-NONE!
OLYMPIC DAY: Olympic Day is Wednesday and will be an active and exciting
day for your child. Please have
them go to bed early, and furnish them with a good breakfast. All parents are
welcome to watch and help! Remember,
a labeled bag lunch with drink must be provided.
Your child MUST eat with the team, but you may eat nearby.
No fast food lunches will be permitted.
Labeled water bottles are encouraged.
Socks and sneakers MUST be worn this day, along with the team shirt and
jeans or shorts. Pray for good
weather!
On Friday, all kindergarten children will be attending Mass and the
awards ceremony in the classroom. After
Mass and school awards in church, all children will return to the classroom for
the K award ceremony. All parents
are encouraged to attend this happy event. Please note that this is NOT a graduation, as your child will
just be moving over to a different classroom and teacher.
But your child will be recognized with a special certificate.
If neither parent can be present, please have someone special come in
your place, i.e., grandparent, special aunt or uncle).
If you can bring in a plate of finger food for after the ceremony, please
do so. Thank you!
I will also need boxed apple juice and bottled water.!
We will be using the baggie for money recognition for purchasing a used
book at the sale in the library this week.
If you would like to send in more, that would be fine, too.
Books are 25 and 50 cents each.
Have a fantastic summer with your child!
I will miss you all!
