Grade 2 Newsletter
Dear Parents,
I'm in the classroom now almost every morning getting things ready. I am getting excited! Feel free to stop by in you want to say hi.
I will be getting your emails together to begin contact so if you don't hear from me soon, contact me via email you'd like used and I'll add it to my contacts.
Reading : (research says read 30 minutes a day to be
successful – read at home!)
Keep reading! Reading is the key to success in all areas.
Prairie book (class as a whole)– I'll begin reading to the children Little House in the Big Woods. You don't need to have a copy unless your child would like to follow along. I do have a few in the classroom the children are welcome to borrow.
Text (basal)– Given and used here.
Leveled readers – Given here and used at home later.
Accelerated Reading – The children will be taught the process and encouraged to use it this year. It will not be reflected on their reading grade.

Religion: We have a big year and so wonderful! Enjoy the journey with your child.
