SIXTH GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES CURRICULUM

Description:   

Sixth Grade Social Studies will explore ancient cultures including Mesopotamia, Egypt, India, China, Greece, Rome, and others.  The geography, economy, traditions and governments of these cultures will be discussed.  Sixth Grade Social Studies allows the student to look at the past to understand the present.  The major project for the year is a country report that will be presented by the individual student in the spring.   

Standards: 

The Learner Will: 

interpretive nature of world history from early civilizations prior to 1800 A.D.

Grading: 

Students will be evaluated on class assignments and activities including but not limited to the following:   

·         Homework (chapter questions, worksheets)

·         Projects/Reports

·         Tests/Quizzes

·         Essay questions

·         Power Point Presentation
