First and foremost, we are a Catholic school.
Students at St. Catherine receive a combination of a strong
religious education along with quality academics. Over the past few years, we have worked extremely hard
to make our curriculum the best that it can be. Through
our lead in diocesan and local realignment, we have improved the scope and sequence
of every major subject area and the overall quality of instruction
at St. Catherine. The new School Curriculum follows both the
Diocesan Guidelines and the Program
of Studies for the State of Kentucky. These documents combine great
content with specific learning objectives to give students the
proper balance of a strong foundation in basic skills along with
a broad and varied knowledge base. Our teachers have worked very
hard on
"differentiated instruction", in which they look at the
wide range of IQ's and learning styles within their classrooms and
design lessons to try to meet the needs of all their students. For
specific grade level curriculum information click here.
We
recently completed a new School
Writer's Manual that combines the Holistic Scoring Guide for the
state of Kentucky along with strong fundamentals in English and
grammar. One
aspect of our curriculum that is particularly strong is the
incorporation of technology in all aspects of learning. Our program
is a leader in the diocese in the area of technology integration. By
having teachers and students using technology regularly, our lessons
are enhanced and our students are exited about learning. Our
state of the art hardware and software allows our students and staff
to access everything that the world of technology has to
offer. To find out more about our curriculum and technology,
