St. Catherine of Siena Parish
Capital Repair
Project List
One of the suggestions at a State of the Parish Address
meeting was to publish a needs/wish list of projects for the parish.
The primary purpose is to make the needs of the parish known, in case
someone would like to contribute to their resolution.
I am willing to publish this list, but with two caveats:
1)
This is NOT a collection. If
you are contributing what you think God wants you to contribute, there is no
pressure on you to give more.
2)
Do not take money away from your parish pledge to donate to a
project. This is for two reasons.
a.
First, that will affect the amount of money we send to the
diocese. I have no problem with
restricted donations, but not in lieu of regular, pledged contributing to the
parish income. We should abide by
the spirit of diocesan regulations regarding assessments.
b.
Second, although we do have practical needs here, our greater need
is a spiritual one, that we all learn true stewardship.
I still have hopes that we can get to the point of operating completely
from our regular offertory contributions.
Two final thoughts: First,
if you have expertise in an area that shows up as a need/wish, it might be an
opportunity for what people call an in-kind donation, doing the work yourself,
or perhaps teaching someone how to do it. Second,
if you see any needs around the campus, or have an idea that would improve our
plant, call someone on our facilities committee with it, Dave Mullen, Dennis
Kramer, Mary Brzinski or myself.
