Parish Night Program   Session four of the ten part series will continue this Wednesday, January 4th.  The title of this session is “Our Tainted Nature’s Solitary Boast - Mary, the Mother of God.”  Father Barron’s “Catholicism” is a ten part video series that takes the viewer around the Catholic world and explores the Church as a culture through its teachings, art, music, and architecture and most importantly the lives it shaped. Father Stef will facilitate each viewing with an open discussion and a question and answer session.  Parish Night sessions begin immediately following 6:30 Mass. BURNING OF THE GREENS   Be sure to save your Christmas tree for the Men's Group's annual Burning of the Greens! Please drop off your tree behind the trash receptacles in the lower parking lot or call Dave Barth (441-0194) to arrange for pick-up from your home.

ST. CATHERINE JUNIOR HIGH PLAY    Tickets are on sale for the Junior High production of Peter Pan.  Performance dates are January 13th, 14th, 15th, 20th, and 21st.  Evening performances are at 7:00 p.m., Sunday performance is at 3:00 p.m.  Cost for the show is $7.00 for adults and $5.00 for students.  For tickets call Becky Farney at 781-4216 or Karen Owens at 491-9126.

ST. BERNARD PANTRY    Items being collected for the pantry during the month of January are peanut butter and jelly. Donations can be dropped off in the back of church, the school office or the parish office.

RETREAT OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE LADIES OF THE PARISH

WOMENS RETREAT   It's time for the annual St. Catherine Women's retreat!  It will be held February 24th – 26th at Marydale and will be led by Fr. IN OUR DIOCESE  

New Beginnings Announcement   A new session of New Beginnings, a support group for divorced and separated persons, sponsored by the Diocese of Covington and hosted by the Dept. of Catechesis and Formation, will begin January 4, 2012.  Meetings will be held on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. through February 22, and will provide the opportunity for healing and growth.  In this faith-based group, participants will find new understanding of themselves and their relationships and gain courage to discover new life.  Registration is required.  Call 859-392-1527.  

NEWPORT CENTRAL CATHOLIC TO HOST ANNUAL STAG  The Newport Central Catholic High School PABO Group (formerly named Boosters) will hold their annual STAG on Sunday, January 15th from 2:00–6:00 pm in the school gymnasium, with the doors opening at 1:00pm.  The proceeds will benefit NCC athletics and extracurricular activities.  The admission price of $20.00 will include beer, soft drinks, dinner, snacks, and a Grand Prize raffle ticket for a 32” HDTV.  In addition, there will be football on the big screen TV, Split-the Pot, and several raffles for great prizes such as UK Basketball tickets and Notre Dame Football tickets.   

ST. JOHN’S GRADE SCHOOL REUNION - COVINGTON   All those who attended St. John’s Grade School are welcome to attend. Reunion will be held on Friday, February 24th, from 7:30 pm - 12:30 am at Legend’s Bar & Grill, 3530 Decoursey Ave., Covington.  Cost is $15.00 per person or $25.00 per couple, and includes music, draft beer, soft drinks, chips & pretzels.  Alumni from the Class of 1965 and earlier admitted FREE! All proceeds will be donated back to St. John’s in the name of the alumni.  Everyone is welcome to bring additional snacks to share if they would like.
