MANY THANKS
Dear Parishioners, Thank you so much to all those who donated for the
collection for Carla. I had written to you all for help for a girl in
Belize who could not afford to finish school and I was more than thrilled to see
how fast the donations came in. I am so thankful to have a parish that
supports me. I also want to give a special thanks to Kim Lampe, without
her help none of this would have happened. Again thank you for all your help
and prayers. I know Carla will really appreciate it!
Love and God Bless, Caitlyn
Shepherd
CELL PHONES Please be sure to turn your cell phone off or put it on silent mode before entering church for mass.
HELP HOMELESS FAMILIES through

REGISTRATIONS NOW
BEING ACCEPTED FOR VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
Vacation Bible School will be held August 1st - 5th from 9:00a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Registration forms are now available in the Parish Office and in the back of
church. Please send in the completed form along with payment to Parish Office by
July 15th. Also, we
are in need of adult volunteers & student volunteers (grades 7-12) to
help with VBS. If you or your child
is able to help, please e-mail Keith Morgeson at kmorgeson@stcatherineofsiena.org.
We look forward to a great time this summer at VBS!
CCD TEACHERS
are
needed for the 2011-2012 school year. We are in search of teachers for the
4th and 6th grade. Please pray about this and
if you feel this is something God is calling you to help with or if you just
want more information about what is involved, please contact Keith Morgeson
at kmorgeson@stcatherineofsiena.org.
The diocese requires that applicants be Virtus trained and be willing to
work on teaching certification for religious education teachers. We appreciate
your support of the St. Catherine of Siena CCD Program!
DID YOU MISS GETTING YOUR FAMILY
PORTRAIT TAKEN? If
you did, here’s another opportunity for you.
We have made arrangements with Olan Mills to come back for two more days
to photograph any families who have not yet had their directory picture taken.
A photographer will be here in McCrystal Hall on Tuesday, July 5th & Wednesday, July 6th from
2:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. You can schedule your photography session by going
to https://signup.olanmills.com/familyinfo.aspx?chcontract=60596.
If you do not have internet access, please call Olan Mills at
(800)866-2263 and they will help you schedule your appointment.
Father Stef asks that all families please be photographed, as a
pictorial directory is a great way for all parishioners to get to know each
other.
SAFE ENVIRONMENT (VIRTUS)
Please be aware that if you wish to participate in parish and school
activities that involve the presence of children, you need to be trained and in
compliance with the safe environment program in the Diocese.
If you haven’t registered for this program but would like to volunteer
for school and/or parish events, please contact the parish office.
If you are already participating in the program, be sure to keep up with
your monthly bulletins. The June
bulletin is now posted and is due by July 5th.

Thank you to all those who continue to support this mission and help us
to “Feed God’s Children”.

PETER’S PENCE
COLLECTION Today we
support the Holy Father in his charitable works.
The Peter’s Pence Collection is taken up worldwide to support the most
disadvantaged: victims of war, oppression, and natural disasters and other in
need of emergency assistance. Pope
Benedict XVI has said, “It is necessary above all that every person be
motivated by the authentic spirit of peace.” (Homily, January 1, 2011).
Cast the peace of Christ upon the world – please be generous in
today’s collection.
FUND-A-FAN 2011
We are collecting funds again this year to purchase box fans and
extension cords to be distributed by our friends at Brighton Center to needy
recipients in the Campbell County area. Any size donation is accepted and
appreciated. This is the fifth year that our family has teamed up
with the Brighton Center for this cause. Last
year we collected close to $1800, which allowed us to buy over 108 fans and 60
extension cords. Please consider donating to help the many members of our
community that suffer through the hot summer months without the relief of air
conditioning. Feel free to forward this email on to your friends and
family. We will be accepting donations through the end of July. Please
make checks payable to: Fund-a-Fan. Your donation can be sent to 454
Ward Avenue, Bellevue, KY 41073. Thanks in advance for your
generosity. The Miglio Family – Tony, Betsy, Pete, Maisy, Vinny
IMPLEMENTATION
The
Prayer Over the Offerings
“I appeal
to you, therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your
bodies
as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual
worship”
(Romans
12:1). To conclude the Preparation of the Gifts, the priest appeals to the
assembly:
“Pray, brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours be acceptable to God,
the
almighty Father.” Called to pray, the people stand and make their response,
holding
themselves
in readiness for the Mystery about to unfold. The Mass engages not the priest
alone,
nor the people apart from the priest, but the people offering with the priest
and
through
his ministry. “The celebration of the Eucharist is an action of the whole
Church,
and
in it each one should carry out solely but completely that which pertains to him
or
her,
in virtue of the rank of each within the People of God” (GIRM, art. 5).
The Prayer
Over the Offerings follows. It asks God to receive the offerings set
before
him and to give us, in exchange, the surpassing gift of himself. The faithful,
uniting
themselves to this prayer, make it their own by sealing it with the acclamation,
Amen.
