MONDAY MASS ON FEBRUARY 7^th   Fr John Eudes Bamberger, a Trappist Monk from New York , will be celebrating mass with us on Monday, February 7^th at 8:00 a.m.    

The Book of Revelation explained     Come join us as Rev. Tim Schehr takes us through the Book of Revelation and enjoy all the good news of God’s victory against all that would stand in the way of the road to glory.  Rev Schehr is our guest presenter for Parish Night on Wednesday Feb 9^th, 16^th, and March 2^nd.  He is bringing this opportunity to our Parish which he has shared with others at St. Peter in Chains through the Lunch with the Lord Series.  Rev Timothy P Schehr Ph.D. teaches at the Athenaeum of Ohio/Mt St Mary’s Seminary in Cincinnati and writes a weekly Scripture column for the Catholic Telegraph.  Rev. Schehr was awarded Distinguished Alumnus in 2009 from the Athenaeum for his service to the church and community.  Mark your calendars and make plans to attend!

PARISH MINISTER TRAINING    For all those who have attended or are scheduled to attend the diocesan minister training session for all Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion and lectors, we will be having the parish training session on Sunday, February 13th immediately following the 11:30 mass.  The purpose of this training is to teach how the new norms will be implemented here at St. Catherine.  If you have any questions, please contact Kim Lampe 441-9955.  Please note that if you signed up for the training, you must also have notified the parish office that you wish begin/continue the ministry.  Many of you did this before the training sessions began.   If you have not, please call the office at 441-1352.

WOMEN'S RETREAT    Come join the women of our parish at Marydale, February 25^th – 27^th for a prayerful, fun, peace-filled weekend.  Our theme this year is "The pieces are falling together in Christ: A mini journey from Lent to Easter" with Fr. Jeff VonLehman.  Can you think of a better way to prepare yourself for the Lenten Season?  Starting at 6:45 on Friday with dinner & an inspiring talk, continuing on Saturday with a few insightful 30-60 minute talks, time for confession, rosaries, way of the cross and more food, and ending on Sunday with mass and brunch.  The retreat will end around noon Sunday.  Get your $25 reservation (remainder of $100 paid upon arrival) to Jennie Cox (441-4322) or Nancy Hassman (760-3751) soon.  Looking forward to growing in faith with you!    

CALL FOR INTEREST IN PRE -K RELEGION      To any parents with children ages 3-5, are you interested in signing up your child to attend a Pre-K religion class that would be held during 9am mass?  We are currently trying to gauge if we have enough interest to bring back this fun program.  If you would be willing to sign up and pay a small fee for supplies please contact Candace Doepker at 859-572-0113.  If we have enough participation we will begin offering classes until the end of the school year.  

PART TIME POSITION AVAILABLE    We are looking to hire an assistant for our After School Child Care program for 3 days a week, approximately 3 hours per day.  Applicants must be 18 years or older, certified in Virtus, and have some experience working with children. This is a minimum wage position. If you, or someone you know, would be interested in this position, please contact the parish office at 441-1352 to let us know if you are interested. FROM YOUR HEALTH MINISTRY    February is heart health month.  Many people do not know their blood pressure "numbers" and many do not want to know.  Not knowing, or knowing high numbers and ignoring them can severely impact your life!  Please take and read the pamphlet "MY BLOOD PRESSURE" at the entrances to church.  Most importantly, come to the usher's room after mass and have your blood pressure checked.  If you don't think this is important, talk with someone who has heart disease.  

IT’S TIME TO FILL OUT YOUR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS!   Attention Catholic Order of Foresters youth, it is time to fill out the application for the annual scholarship program. Scholarships are available for Kindergarten through 12^th grade. Students attending Catholic School will fill out the T.A.P. (Tuition Assistance Program.) Public school students attending Religious Education Program will fill out the R.E.A.P. (Religious Education Assistance Program.) Members can apply for K-12 scholarships each year and as a high school Junior, will apply for our four-year college scholarships. FINAL TRAINING SESSIONS FOR LITURGICAL MINISTERS      The final two education sessions for liturgical ministers who did not attend a fall session have been scheduled.  They are: Tuesday, February 8^th at Blessed Sacrament Church from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, February 19^th at St. Mary Church in Alexandria from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.   To register for a session you must do the following: Go to the diocesan website www.covingtondiocese.org; click on “All Diocesan Offices; click on Worship and Liturgy Office; click on Education Sessions for Liturgical Ministers; enter the password: training.  From the next screen, choose the session you would like to attend and complete requested information.
