Thanks in advance for helping with this program.

CALLING ALL CRAFTERS   The 2nd annual Foresters Spring Arts and Craft Show is coming up Saturday, March 19th from 9-2.  Booth Rental is $25.  You can register now.  Contact Betsy Stegner at bstegner@stcatherineofsiena.org.  or 859-653-2034.  Booth Space is limited.    If you're a crafter and would like to donate an item or two for the Forester's Booth, contact Jan Hamilton at 781-2837.

REMOVE THE CHAINS OF UNFORGIVENESS THIS LENT!    Is there anyone in your life that you have not forgiven?  In 1999 Rachel Muha witnessed a monumental collision of good and evil in which violent teens murdered her 18 year old son, a student at Franciscan University in Steubenville.  The story of the Muha family is not one of hatred, revenge and death.  It is one of love, forgiveness and life.  Only the God of mercy helped Rachel to shine grace in the darkest place where it seemed impossible for a mother to forgive.  Come hear Rachel’s supernatural story of forgiveness on Sunday, March 20th at 7pm , sponsored by St. Catherine’s Praise & Worship Series in conjunction with Northern Kentucky University ’s Newman Center .  Doors open at 6pm .  A free-will offering will be collected.  Call 859-441-3438 for more information.

CCD TEACHERS: needed for the 2011-2012 school year. The time for discernment is now. We are in search of teachers for the 4th & 6th grade classes and a co-teacher for the 5th grade. Interested persons must be active in their faith and ready to answer the call. The diocese requires applicants to be, or to become, Virtus trained and willing to begin work on teaching certification for religious education teachers. Contact Keith Morgeson at kmorgeson@stcatherineofsiena.org with your willingness to serve in this ministry.

PARISH MISSION CD’S   Deacon Poyo’s homily and all 4 mission talks are now available on CD in the parish office.  There is no set charge for them, we are simply asking for a goodwill offering which will be sent to Deacon Poyo.   Please remember to keep him and his ministry in your prayers.

PRO- LIFE FACT      A question to think about:  Why is a pregnant 14 year old who wants to give birth just “a baby having a baby”, but a 14 year old who submits to an abortion is “a young woman excercising her constitutional rights”?

The Sign of the Cross and Greeting

“I through the greatness of your love have access to your house. I bow down before your holy temple, filled with awe” (Psalm 5:8). After having entered the sanctuary, the priest and ministers reverence the altar with a profound bow. The priest and deacon then kiss the altar and, on solemn occasions, incense it together with the cross.  Then, standing at the chair, the priest, together with the people, makes the Sign of the Cross. The priest alone chants or says, “In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.” The assembly answers with the first “Amen” of the Mass: a seal of assent, a confession of faith, an expression of joy.  The Greeting of the priest follows. In greeting the assembly the priest acknowledges the presence of Christ in the midst of the Church. At the same time, the Greeting of the priest is a communication of the grace of Christ, the love of the Father, and the communion of the Holy Spirit. In responding to his Greeting, the people acknowledge the presence of Christ in the person of the priest who stands before them. “The Lord be with you. And with your spirit.”
