IN
OUR PARISH
WE WELCOME
to our parish family through baptism: Emily Christine Powell,
daughter of Chris and Tricia. May
she always know God’s blessings.
ALL
ARE
INVITED!
Come and join fellow parishioners at this year’s Parish
Fest as we celebrate and show our appreciation to all of the volunteers we
have in our parish. It will be held TODAY,
Sunday, September 26th from 4:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Grilled items, smoked pork and beverages will be provided, just bring a side
dish to share. There will be games,
fun and music for all ages, so be sure to come and share an evening with your
fellow parishioners!
FLU SHOTS
Our Parish Health Ministry will be administering flu shots in
McCrystal Hall this weekend, Saturday, October 2nd after
4:30
mass, Sunday, October 3rd
between masses. The
Wednesday evening session has been cancelled. Cost is $20, however, if you
have a Medicare card, there is no cost. Also,
by choosing to get your flu shot here rather than at another location, you will
be helping the Center for Hope & Healing in
Covington
provide flu vaccines to those who otherwise could not afford them.
These vaccines are for the regular flu as well as the H1N1 strain.
No appointment or reservation is necessary and children who have had the
flu shot in the past are welcome. If
you have any questions, please call Sheila Carroll at 491-8771.
ARE
YOU AN R.N.?
If you are and you would
be able to help with administering flu shots, please call Sheila at 491-8117.
WELCOME OUR
NEW
MEMBERS
Stop by McCrystal Hall next Sunday,
October 3rd, after the
9:00 a.m.
mass for the New Members Welcome Breakfast.
Join fellow parishioners for breakfast and meet the newest members of the
St. Catherine Parish family.
WHY CAN'T CATHOLICS BE MASONS? John
Salza, a former 32nd degree Mason, will answer that question and more during his
talk on Sunday, October 3rd
at 6:30p.m.in church. John is a well published and credentialed Catholic
apologist who is a frequent guest on Catholic radio and TV including: EWTN,
Catholic Answers Live, Kresta in the Afternoon, and Sacred Heart Radio.
Freemasonry is not a social fraternity as many perceive but a secret society
whose principles are contrary to key truths of Christianity. Don't miss what
John Salza discovered behind the Lodge door.
Tickets are five dollars at the door. Doors open at
5:30 p.m.
Call Sharon 441-1069 or Terri 441-3438 for more information.
PARISH NIGHTS
ARE
BACK!!!!
Once again, we will be provided with the opportunity to learn about
and grow in our Catholic faith. The
first Parish Night will be held on Wednesday,
October 6th immediately following mass. This will be the first of
a 2-part session entitled “Theological Reflection” and will be led by Fr.
Stef. (The second session will be held on October 20th). During
the sessions, you will learn a method that will help you make sense of current
events, news topics, political issues, and more, based on the content of our
faith. This method can also help you
make decisions in the context of our faith. Make plans now to attend what are
sure to be informative evenings. Remember,
we should never stop in our quest for knowledge of our faith!
UPCOMING CRHP
The Women's Christ Renews His Parish, (CRHP 6), has been

. If you have any questions or are interested, please contact Dinah Marron
(dinah.marron@kaobrands.com),

SCRIP NEWS Thanks to all
our faithful customers for your continued support of the St Catherine Scrip
Program! The program earned $19,693 for the fiscal year of
July 1, 2009
through
June 30, 2010
. Kroger is by far our best return averaging $750 a month profit.
(We just received a check from them for $764.00.)
There are many new Scrip programs starting up with other schools, sports
teams and churches joining the program. We are most appreciative
of the families who consistently buy from the St Catherine program! Scrip
gift cards are sold in the parish office during office hours and after the
weekend Masses. Please take a little time and stop and buy Scrip.
Also, consider buying a Kroger card from St Catherine and reloading
it at any Kroger store. Thanks also to all our volunteers who give
their time to the smooth running of the Scrip Program. The
Scrip Committee

PRO-
LIFE
FACT
Norma McCorvey, the real life “Jane Roe” plaintiff of
Roe vs. Wade amazingly has switched sides and has become a pro-life Christian.
She says that she was callously “used in 1973” by uncaring
pro-abortion attorneys and that she lied about being impregnated through rape.
Today, she runs a ministry to inform people of the evils of abortion.
