OUR DEEPEST SYMPATHY   is extended to the family and friends of Jackie Haas who was buried from our parish last week.  Please keep Jackie and her family in your prayers.

ST. CATHERINE SIENA CLUB   will be having their monthly meeting today, Sunday, August 8th, at 12:30 p.m. in McCrystal Hall.  Be sure to stop by for some food, fun and friendship!

PRO- LIFE FACT     Women can legally abort their unborn child at any time throughout their entire nine months of pregnancy, for any reason.

ST. BERNARD PANTRY   We will once again be collecting items every month for the pantry.  For the month of August, we will be collecting spaghetti and pasta sauce.  Donations can be dropped off to church, the parish office or the school office (once school begins).

HOMILIES ON CD   The new homilies on CD are now available in the back of church.

 

IN OUR DIOCESE

ATTENTION NCC PARENTS/GRANDPARENTS     Volunteers are needed to help out once a month in the NCC cafeteria. To sign up to volunteer, please call Chris Hosty at 441-2569.

NOVENA   St. Patrick's, Taylor Mill, will be celebrating their annual Novena to Our Lady of Knock from August 14th through August 22nd.  In addition to the Novena St. Patrick's will be hosting The Vatican's International Exhibition of Eucharistic Miracles of the World. AN END-OF-SUMMER CELEBRATION   featuring Chris Padgett will be held on Thursday, August 12th from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Memorial Hall, St. Joseph Church , Cold Spring.  All diocesan youth of high school age are welcome.  A founding member of the popular Christian band Scarecrow and Tinmen, Chris Padgett is a talented musician, an inspirational speaker, and a convert to Catholicism.  Music will be provided by the Lee Roessler Band and Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish's Life Teen Band.  Admission is free, but donations will be gratefully accepted.  For more information, contact Donna Heim at dkheim@hotmail.com.  Youth, come give thanks to God for the summer and consecrate the new school year to Him! 

ST. MARY OF THE ASSUMPTION PARISH FESTIVAL - will be held on Friday, August 13th from 6:00pm to midnight and Saturday, August 14th from 5:00pm to 11:00pm .  Mass at 4pm on Saturday.  Chicken and roast beef dinners will be served on Saturday from 2pm to 8pm in the air-conditioned cafeteria.  Carryouts will also be available. There will be rides, games, and booths for all ages.  Live entertainment bt '3 Heads Tall' on Friday at 8pm .  Saturday highlights include $3100 Grand Raffle, festival version of 'Minute To Win It', and 50 cent Bingo in the a/c gym.  The festival is located on the school grounds in Alexandria with plenty of free parking in the church lot.  For questions/directions, call (859) 635-4188.

END OF SUMMER CELEBRATION   will be held at St. Joseph parish in Crescent Springs on August 13, 14, 15.  The tradition continues as families, friends, neighbors, parishioners, and more come together to celebrate each other and their community.  This year boasts festival favorites such as live music, raffles, Norb’s Grill, and Noll’s fried chicken dinner on Sunday.  There’s plenty of family fun with 25˘ Kids games, unlimited Rides special on Sunday, 1-5 p.m., and a 5K Run/Walk on Saturday.   Visitors can relax in the beer garden as they chat with an old friend or make some new ones.  Come join us!  Friday & Saturday, August 13 -14   6:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m. Sunday, August 15 1:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. For more information, go to www.stjoesfestival.org

ANNUAL DAY OF REFLECTION   sponsored by The Pro-Life Commission of the Diocese of Covington, will be held on Saturday, August 14th from 8:30 am – 2:00 pm at St. Anne’s Convent, Moye Spiritual Life Center , 1000 St. Anne Drive , Melbourne , KY.   Come together with members of the diocesan community to revitalize our spirits, regroup our efforts and renew our dedication to the cause of life. THE NATIONAL ALLIANCE FOR MENTAL ILLNESS (NAMI) is a grassroots organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by mental illness. NAMI Northern Kentucky, located in the former St. Bernard School building, Dayton , Ky. , is one of 1,100 affiliates nationwide offering an array of support and education programs for families affected by mental illness. They will begin a 12-week Family-to-Family education program for family members and friends of individuals with major depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder, borderline personality disorder, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, co-occurring brain and addictive disorders. Family-to-Family is FREE and begins Aug. 23, 6:30–9 p.m. at St. Henry Parish, Elsmere. ST.
