BEER BOOTH VOLUNTEERS NEEDED    St. Catherine has the unique opportunity to work the beer booth at the "4th at the Fort" Celebration this year at the Fort which is actually on Saturday July 3rd this year. The Celebration runs from 11:00am - 10:00pm . We are planning on selling beer only from 1:00pm -10:00pm. Needless to say we need numerous volunteers. Please respond to John Little @ john.little@fuse.net or jlittle@griffinind.com if you can work any time period. This Fundraiser is being targeted for new Soccer uniforms for all grade levels. If you have a child who plays Soccer at St Catherine please consider volunteering your time so we can look sharp this coming soccer season. Even if you do not have a child playing soccer, consider helping out for this great cause. This is a great opportunity for St. Catherine to raise needed funds for the sports program. You can specify when you would like to work and I will try to accommodate. All volunteers will receive their choice of either a  Family pass to the St. Catherine basketball tournament or  matching soccer shorts to go with the new soccer shirt.  (Minimum 2 hour service required)

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL      Plans are underway for this year’s Vacation Bible School which will be held on August 2-6.  The theme “Son Rock Kid’s Camp” has been selected and we are currently in the process of organizing the help for this event.  We are looking for adult volunteers as well as junior high and high school age volunteers to help in all areas.  Junior high and high school volunteers will be able to earn service hours for helping out in any capacity.  Please consider helping out to keep this important outreach ministry for the parish going!! If you are willing to help please contact the church office at 441-1352 or Jamie Hochleutner at w.hochleutner@insightbb.com or 391-2313.

STARS GRIEF SUPPORT FOR KIDS     will hold its annual Summer Day Camp on Wednesday, July 7th from 7:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. at Town & Country Sports Complex in Wilder. The goal of the camp is to provide a one-day structured program that integrates fun and play with grief work activities.  The children have an opportunity to meet others who have experienced a death and learn safe and healthy ways to express their grief.  A special program this year is Circus Mojo, a chance for kids to learn circus acts from a professional circus clown!  The camp is limited to 30 and is for elementary school aged children. The cost is $25 per child or $50 per family and includes breakfast and lunch.  Scholarships are available for children who have a financial need.  Families may register by calling 292-0244 or visit www.starsforchildren.com to receive a registrations packet.  Registration deadline is June 30th.

CAST THE LOVE OF CHRIST UPON THE WORLD    Today we support the Holy Father in his charitable works.  The Peter’s Pence Collection is taken up worldwide in an effort of solidarity to support the most disadvantaged: victims of war, oppression and natural disaster and others in need of emergency assistance.  Pope Benedict XVI has said, “God’s love gives us the courage to continue seeking and working for the benefit of all”. Cast the love of Christ upon the world – please be generous in today’s Peter’s Pence Collection and please remember the Holy Father in your prayers.

A VOLUNTEER RECEPTIONIST    is needed at Catholic Charities to answer the telephone and greet visitors.  Time required is four hours per week.  Shifts are from 9-1, 1-5 and 5-8 p.m.   Ongoing training is provided.  Other volunteer opportunities are available.  Please call Joy Boothby at 581-8974.

FUND-A-FAN 2010   The “summer swelter” has begun! We are collecting funds again this year to purchase box fans and extension cords to be distributed by our friends at Brighton Center to needy recipients in the Campbell County area.  Any size donation is accepted and appreciated.   This is the fourth year that our family has teamed up with the Brighton Center for this cause.   Last year we raised close to $1600, which allowed us to buy over 78 fans and 53 extension cords.  Please consider donating to help the many members of our community that suffer through the hot summer months without the relief of air conditioning.  We will be accepting donations through the end of July. Please make checks payable to: Fund-a-Fan.  Your donation can be sent to 454 Ward Avenue, Bellevue, KY 41073 Any questions, contact Betsy at betsy@drawsonwalls.com. Thanks in advance for your generosity.  The Miglio Family
