IN OUR PARISH

WE WELCOME    to our parish family through baptism: Elizabeth Nancy Krueger, daughter of Jim and Kristin.  May she always know God’s blessings.  

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL      Plans are underway for this year’s Vacation Bible School which will be held on August 2-6.  The theme “Son Rock Kid’s Camp” has been selected and we are currently in the process of organizing the help for this event.  We are looking for adult volunteers as well as junior high and high school age volunteers to help in all areas.  Junior high and high school volunteers will be able to earn service hours for helping out in any capacity.  Please consider helping out to keep this important outreach ministry for the parish going!! BABY BOTTLE CAMPAIGN     Don’t forget that baby bottles are due this Sunday, June 20^th. You can drop off your bottles to the parish office during the week, or bring them to mass next Sunday. HELP HOMELESS FAMILIES   through the Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) Monday-Wednesday, June 21, 22^nd, & 23^rd.  Assistance is needed in transporting families in the IHN van to and from Christ Church and the Day Center in Newport , preparing a meal, hosting a meal and spending the night. This is a great way for families and individuals to work together in service. New volunteers will be paired with experienced helpers so don’t let inexperience keep you from answering the call. Call Mindy Hoarston at 547-8415 for additional information or see the sign-up posters at the Rossford Avenue exit of church.   

CARDS!!  The 500 marathon women’s card group will start up playing again in August.  If you are interested in joining the group, please call Lois at 781-2232.

SUMMER FESTIVAL    St. Therese Church in Southgate , will be having their annual summer festival on Saturday and Sunday, June 25^th & 26^th from 6:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.   There will be grilled food, live music and games.  Free shuttle service from the South Hill Professional Building at 525 Alexandria Pike. (at the 471/Southgate exit).  

THE SISTERS OF NOTRE DAME   are in need of volunteers to work the booths at their annual 4th of July festival.  Proceeds from the festival help support the new Notre Dame Urban Education Center in Covington , the mission in Buseesa, East Africa and the retired sisters.  They are also in need of collectibles, gift certificates and items for their Silent Auction.  If you would like to help, please contact Margie Schnelle at 859-392-8229 or email mschnelle@sndky.org.  For information on the festival go to www.sndky.org.  

CAST THE LOVE OF CHRIST UPON THE WORLD    Next week our diocese will take up the Peter’s Pence Collection, which provides the Holy Father with the assistance he needs to carry out his most important charitable works. The proceeds benefit the most disadvantaged; victims of war, oppression, and disasters.  Through your generosity, with Pope Benedict, we can cast the love of Christ upon the world.  

A VOLUNTEER RECEPTIONIST    is needed at Catholic Charities to answer the telephone and greet visitors.  Time required is four hours per week.  Shifts are from 9-1, 1-5 and 5-8 p.m.   Ongoing training is provided.  Other volunteer opportunities are available.  Please call Joy Boothby at 581-8974.

LUNCH WITH THE LORD & FR. TIM SCHEHR     The summer Scripture reflection, Lunch with the Lord, meets on four Wednesdays, July 7, 14, 21 and 28 in the Cathedral of St. Peter in Chains Synod Hall at 8^th and Plum Streets in downtown Cincinnati from noon to 1:00 pm following the 11:30 am Mass.  Fr. Tim Schehr reflects on the book of Revelation with its hymns, trumpets, angelic choirs…and even a dragon.  Revelation is a breathtaking summary of all Jesus means for the world, filled with sights and sounds to help us on our spiritual journeys. All are welcome to bring a friend and a lunch if desired and feed on God’s word.  Soft drinks and water will be available for purchase.  The sessions are free and open to the public.
