IN OUR PARISH

WE WELCOME    to our parish family through baptism: Joseph Paul Hicks, son of Dennis and Jeanne; and Wyatt Hudson Feldman, son of Craig and Amanda.  May this be the beginning of a life filled with God's mercy, grace and love, and a future blessed with happiness and hope for each of them.

ST. CATHERINE SIENA CLUB     will be meeting today, Sunday, June 13th at 12:30 in McCrystal Hall.  If you enjoy good food, fun and friends, be sure to stop by!

PLEASE NOTE     Due to the Priest Jubilee on Tuesday, June 15th, there will be no confessions on that day.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL      Plans are underway for this year’s Vacation Bible School which will be held on August 2-6.  The theme “Son Rock Kid’s Camp” has been selected and we are currently in the process of organizing the help for this event.  We are looking for adult volunteers as well as junior high and high school age volunteers to help in all areas.  Junior high and high school volunteers will be able to earn service hours for helping out in any capacity.  Please consider helping out to keep this important outreach ministry for the parish going!! If you are willing to help please contact the church office at 441-1352  or Jamie Hochleutner at   w.hochleutner@insightbb.com or 391-2313.

NEWPORT CENTRAL CATHOLIC SENIOR AWARDS   In last week’s bulletin, there was an insert that listed the awards won by St. Catherine Parish seniors at NCC and Highlands .  Unfortunately, the information we received from NCC was not complete and the following students left off the list:

Amy Schwarber – Scholastic Excellence Award and English Award; Olivia Guth and Adam Ulbricht – High Academic Honor Award; Chelsea Owens – Academic Honor Award.  We apologize for this oversight and congratulate these students on their academic achievements.

FATHER BOB’S GOING AWAY PARTY     will be held on Saturday, June 19th at 7:00 p.m. in McCrystal Hall.  We are asking those attending to bring either an appetizer or a sweet treat, drinks will be provided.  We would like to give him a proper send off and show him how much we have loved having him here and will miss him. Also, if you would like to contribute to a gift for Fr. Bob from the parish, you may drop off your contribution to the parish office or give it to Bob Hassman.  Fr. has been looking for a used tractor that he can use at his parents' farm, so we would like to help him be able to buy one.

BABY BOTTLE CAMPAIGN     Don’t forget that baby bottles are due by next Sunday, June 20th. You can drop off your bottles to the parish office during the week, or bring them to mass next Sunday. Your donation will help Care Net Pregnancy Center minister to women and men who are experiencing an unplanned pregnancy.  For more information, to donate by credit card, or to volunteer, visit www.choselifenky.org or call 431-9178.

HELP HOMELESS FAMILIES   through the Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) Monday-Wednesday, June 21, 22nd, & 23rd.  Assistance is needed in transporting families in the IHN van to and from Christ Church and the Day Center in Newport , preparing a meal, hosting a meal and spending the night. This is a great way for families and individuals to work together in service. New volunteers will be paired with experienced helpers so don’t let inexperience keep you from answering the call. Call Mindy Hoarston at 547-8415 for additional information or see the sign-up posters at the Rossford Avenue exit of church.

CARDS!!  The 500 marathon women’s card group will start up playing again in August.  If you are interested in joining the group, please call Lois at 781-2232.

PRO- LIFE FACT    43% of all women who have abortions will have 2 or more.
