IN OUR PARISH

WE WELCOME TO OUR PARISH FAMILY   through baptism:  James Gregory Donelan, son of  Jeremy and Kathy; and Avery Hope Hasson, daughter of Rob & Stephanie.  May they always know God’s blessings.

HELP NEEDED     The ceiling in the back of church is in need of refinishing.  If this is something you are able to do, we could use your help.  Please contact Dennis Kramer at 441-1352, ext 17 if you would like to volunteer.

PLEASE NOTE THIS CHANGE   Effective Tuesday, August 25th, Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will end at 6:45 p.m. and Benediction will begin at that time.

FREE MONEY!!   That is exactly what the Scrip program has to offer.  We can earn money for St. Catherine Parish just by doing what we normally do - buying groceries, putting gas in our car, buying clothes, going out to eat, as well as buying all those back to school supplies!  Best of all, the money is earned without anyone spending anything extra.  This program has an incredible earning potential, but in order for it to work, people have to utilize it.  Buy scrip before shopping and let your parish reap the rewards!!  Scrip gift cards can be purchased in the parish office Monday-Friday and after all weekend masses.

LOST AND FOUND    Over the past several months, there have been several pieces of jewelry found in church or on the grounds.  If you have lost any jewelry, please contact the parish office.

HOMILIES ON CD   Fr. Stef’s July homilies are now available on CD in the back of church.

ST BERNARD FOOD PANTRY COLLECTION     We are once again going to be collecting items every month to be donated to the food pantry.  The item being collected this month is family size peanut butter.  You can drop off your donation to the parish office or in the vestibules at the side entrances to church.

LOOKING FOR AN EASIER WAY TO FULFILL YOUR OFFERTORY COMMITMENT? Having a hard time remembering to bring your donation each Sunday? Want to give back to God from your surplus instead of your leftovers? EFT may be the answer to your dilemma. Your offertory commitment may be fulfilled by having a monthly withdrawal from your checking account through  Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). The withdrawal can take place either on the 15th or the 30th of the month. If you would like more information, please contact Mary Brzinski in the parish office 441-1352 extension 14 or email at mbrzinski@stcatherineofsiena.org.

CCD REGISTRATION FOR 2009-2010 CONTINUES   Registration forms may be downloaded from our parish website at www.stcatherineofsiena.org. - click on CCD.  Late registrations should be returned to the parish office to the attention of Mary Brzinski as soon as possible and will be assessed a higher fee.

PREPARATION FOR SACRAMENTS POLICY   Students make their immediate preparation for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist in the second grade class, and their immediate preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation in the eighth grade class. All of the grades, elementary and high school, are important and necessary for the remote preparation for the sacraments and a fuller understanding of the Catholic Christian Faith. It is for this reason that the St. Catherine Board of Catholic Education has set policies establishing requirements for the preparation for the sacraments. To comply with these policies, any child wishing to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist or Confirmation must attend all grades of religious education training prior to, as well as, the year of the receipt of the sacrament.

CCD CLASSES BEGIN SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 2009 AT 10:15AM .  All CCD classes are held in St. Catherine School .  CCD families will receive startup information by email in the coming weeks.  Any email address changes from last year should be directed to David Kohrs, CCD Coordinator, at kohrssd@fuse.net .
