VBS REGISTRATION DEADLINE!!!!  If you haven’t already registered your child for our Vacation Bible School , you only have until Monday, July 27^th to do so.  All registrations MUST be in by this date!!!  Please complete the Registration Form on the St. Catherine's web page, pick one up at the parish office or at our website, SAINTSALIVEVBS.COM, username vbs, password vbs2009 to register.

HELP NEEDED     The ceiling in the back of church is in need of refinishing.  If this is something you are able to do, we could use your help.  Please contact Dennis Kramer at 441-1352, ext 17 if you would like to volunteer. 

CCD TEACHERS NEEDED     for the 2009-2010 school year.  Candidates must be virtus trained or be willing to become virtus trained and must begin working toward Diocesan Religion Teacher certification.  Interested persons should contact David Kohrs at 859-653-4398 or kohrssd@fuse.net.

2009 BLUEJAY 5K RUN / WALK     sponsored by St. Joseph Church, Cold Spring, will take place on Saturday, August 1^st at 9:15 a.m.  Pre-registration is available by mailing your entry form and fee check made out to St. Joseph Church, postmarked by July 22^nd or online at www.sprunning.com by Tuesday July 28^th.  Fees: pre-registration is $20 (this includes a dry release t-shirt); race day registration is $25 (tshirts included while supplies last).   Please call Joe Webster with any questions – 635-6403.

DIOCESAN CATHOLIC CHILDREN’S HOME    will be holding their annual Flea Market on August 1^st from 8am - 3pm and August 2^nd from 11am-3pm .  There will be furniture, antiques, home décor, collectibles and more for sale.  Any questions, please call 331-2040, ext. 255.

NEWCATH BOOSTERS SPONSOR GOLF OUTING   sponsored by the Boosters Organization will be held on Friday, August 7^th at Hickory Sticks featuring tee times, and a scramble format.  The outing includes drinks and lunch at the course and dinner and raffles also at the course.   Cost:  $300/foursome – (minimum $150 deposit required by August 1 to hold tee time). ST. MARY OF THE ASSUMPTION PARISH FESTIVAL   will be held Friday, August 14th from 6:00 P.M. to midnight and Saturday, August 15th from 5:00 to 11:00 P.M.   Chicken and roast beef dinners will be served on Saturday from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the air-conditioned cafeteria.  Carryouts will also be available.  There will be rides, games, and booths for all ages.  Saturday highlights include live entertainment, $3100 Grand Raffle, and 50¢ Bingo in the a/c gym.  The festival is located on the school grounds in Alexandria with plenty of parking in the church lot.  For directions/questions, call (859) 635-4188.

HOMECOMING FESTIVAL 2009   As part of their 100th Anniversary Celebration, St. Bernard Church in Dayton is declaring their annual festival as “St. Bernard Homecoming Festival 2009”!  They hope to attract family and friends from near and far.  Anyone who is or ever was affiliated with the church or school is asked to come back and celebrate with the laughs, smiles and family atmosphere that makes St. Bernard the wonderful community of believers that it is. The festival is Labor Day weekend on Friday and Saturday, September 4th and 5th from 5pm-11pm at Gil Lynn Park (behind the church).  Please pass the word on.  More details will follow in the coming weeks.
