IN OUR PARISH

OUR DEEPEST SYMPATHY   is extended to the family and friends of Leroy Herb, who passed away last week.  Please remember him and his family in your prayers.

WELCOME FR. BOB!!!  As many of you know, our very own Deacon Bob has been ordained and we have been blessed to have him assigned to St. Catherine.  Beginning July 1, he will officially be the “Parochial Vicar”, so you will be seeing him in the parish office as well as celebrating mass. If you haven’t already done so, be sure to congratulate and welcome him!

THANK YOU   to St. Catherine school and parish for your generosity to the St. Bernard Parish Food Pantry.  I am surprised and delighted at all of the food items donated.   God Bless, Sr. Maddelena Guidugli

CORPUS CHRISTI      Immediately following all 3 weekend masses next weekend, June 13th & 14th, you are invited to remain in church for 15 minutes of adoration and benediction to celebrate the Solemnity of the Body & Blood of Christ.  This is a great time to reflect on the mysteries of our faith and Christ’s real presence, alive, in the Eucharist.

YEAR OF THE PRIEST   Pope Benedict XVI has declared a Year of the Priest from June 19, 2009- June 19, 2010 , to encourage and establish an intense appreciation for the Catholic priesthood.  The Holy Father’s hope is that in establishing this holy year, clergy, religious, and laity will be drawn to promote the spiritual renewal of priestly ministry and advance the proper understanding of the Catholic priesthood both in the Church and in society.  In the Diocese of Covington, Bishop Roger Foys will inaugurate the Year of the Priest with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament and 1st Solemn Vespers for the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus at the Cathedral Basilica on Thursday, June 18th at 7:00 p.m.   All are invited and encouraged to come and pray with and for the priests of our diocese on this joyous occasion.
