PRAYER HOTLINE   If you or someone you know needs prayer, or if you would like to join the group of "pray'ers" please contact Sandy Nagel at 441-6743 to join or to leave a prayer request.  Prayer is one of our greatest gifts from God.

SKYLINE CHILI NIGHT   This coming Thursday night, May 14th, from   4:00 p.m. - closing is St. Catherine night at the Skyline Chili in Highland Heights . Whether you dine in or carryout, just mention St. Catherine of Siena ( Ft. Thomas ) when you pay your bill. They will donate 10% of the pre-tax total straight to us. Tell your friends, families, and neighbors. Anyone that mentions St. Catherine of Siena brings us 10%.Want to bring us even more money? Stop by the parish office and pick up your Skyline Scrip to use that night and we earn even more!  This is the last St. Catherine night of the school year, so let’s make it a successful one!

ATTENTION 2009 HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS   St. Catherine of Siena wishes to honor each of you on your successful completion of twelve years of learning on Sunday, May 17th at the 9:00 a.m. mass, followed by a reception in McCrystal Hall.  If you are a graduate this year and do not receive a letter by the end of this week, please call the parish office.

ST. CATHERINE SIENA CLUB    We haven’t met for a few months, so there will be lots to catch up on!! Tell your friends, tell your neighbors and don’t miss our next meeting, Sunday, May 17th at 12:30 in McCrystal Hall. Come ready for good food and good fun!!!

SCRIP UPDATE   St. Catherine earned $804 this month from Kroger thanks to everyone who reloaded their Kroger gift cards! A big thank you to everyone who participates in this program! If you don't have a re-loadable Kroger gift card, see the scrip sellers in the back of church after each mass to get yours today! We now have $20 Barnes and Noble gift cards designed expressly to be given to teachers as a 'thank you' for all they do for our kids. These make great end of year gifts!

CCD TEACHERS NEEDED     for the 2009-2010 school year.  Candidates must be virtus trained or be willing to become virtus trained and must begin working toward Diocesan Religion Teacher certification.  Interested persons should contact David Kohrs at 859-653-4398 or kohrssd@fuse.net.

UPCOMING NOMINATIONS   We are currently seeking nominations for positions on St. Catherine’s Board of Catholic Education.  Please consider the many gifts you or your fellow parishioners have to offer this group.  Place your nominations(s) in the box that will be located at the back of the church or contact Karen Camm at 781-3330 or k.camm@insightbb.com or Carol Little at 441-4070.  Nominees will be contacted and invited to attend a discernment meeting that will be held in May.

TWO WAYS TO HELP   Care Net Pregnancy Services receives a discount from Wal Mart to purchase diapers, cribs, and car seats.  If you would like to make a donation to Care Net, you could do so by giving them a Wal Mart gift card purchased from our Scrip Program. You will not only be helping out Care Net, but St. Catherine Parish as well.  If you are interested in making this type of donation, please contact Nancy Hassman at 760-3751.

AN INVITATION    If you are confined to home and unable to attend mass, (even if it’s just temporary), please call St. Catherine Parish if you’d like to receive Holy Communion in your home. One of our Parish Ministries – Outreach to the Homebound – is waiting to bring the Eucharist to you or a family member, or even your neighbor.  We know that this is a need waiting to be filled, but we must first hear from you. So please accept this invitation and allow us to share the living Bread – the Body of Jesus with you.

HOMILIES ON CD   Fr. Stef’s homilies from the Easter Vigil through the first half of the Easter season are now available in the back of church.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL    Plans are underway for this year’s VBS, which will be held August 3rd – 7th.  In order for VBS to be successful, we need lots of volunteers.  If you are interested in helping, please contact Kim Kruer at (859)462-2856.  This is a great opportunity for junior high and high school students to earn service hours.  All volunteers over the age of 18 must be Virtus trained.  To register as a volunteer or participant, please complete the form included in this bulletin.

MOTHER'S DAY - FATHER'S DAY BABY BOTTLE BOOMERANG  Don't forget to pick up your baby bottle for the Care Net annual baby bottle campaign! We will be passing out bottles after all masses this weekend for you to fill with your spare change and return on Father's Day, June 21. This is the biggest fund raiser for Care Net Pregnancy Services, a full service agency that ministers to women and men who are experiencing an unplanned pregnancy.

DPAA PARISH REPORT    Throughout its 25 year history, the DPAA has supported ministries that tirelessly serve thousands of people in our Diocese.  Your kindness and compassion have enabled our Church to provide not only life’s material essentials but also critical spiritual and emotional assistance.  These works are done in Christ’s name through your pledge to the Appeal.  To date, 138 families in our parish have given pledges totaling $41,880.00.  May God bless you for your generosity.  If you haven’t made your gift, please do so today, or drop it in the offertory basket next weekend.
