IN OUR PARISH

ST. CATHERINE PILGRIMAGE   Join Fr. Stef in making a Lenten Pilgrimage to Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Center in Norwood , Ohio , on Sunday, 29 March.  We will leave at 2:00 p.m. from our parking lot, and return about 5:00 p.m.   We have different pilgrimage activities planned as we tour the center, which was once the major seminary of the archdiocese of Cincinnati .  We ask that you register for this activity so that we know how many buses we need.  Call or stop in the parish office and give your name to Teresa by Monday, 23 March, if possible.  If you have a friends you want to bring along, who are not members of St. Catherine, feel free to invite them also.    

STATIONS OF THE CROSS    Continue your Lenten journey by attending Stations of the Cross every Friday at 7:00 pm .  What a great way to recount Jesus’ journey to Calvary for our salvation.  This is a wonderful opportunity for family prayer during Lent.

THE PARISH LENTEN PENANCE SERVICE   will be held on Thursday, March 19^th at 7:00 p.m. This is an opportunity for the entire family to celebrate the sacrament of reconciliation before Easter.  

LENTEN SERVICE PROJECT   The grocery bags for the Lenten Project will be available in the back of church. Take a bag, (or two!), fill it with the items on the list, and return it before Good Friday morning. The agencies are very much in need of our help. The bags will be distributed to the local agencies on Good Friday morning.  

HOMILIES ON CD   Fr. Stef’s February homilies are available on CD in the back of church.  

UPCOMING PRAISE AND WORSHIP SPEAKERS      Fr. Mike Comer and an Exorcist are the next featured speakers at St. Catherine. Fr Comer will speak on Palm Sunday evening, April 5^th at 7:00 pm and Fr. Euteneuer, an Exorcist, will speak on Sunday, May 3^rd at 7:00pm . These are must see speakers so be sure to save the dates!  

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED     Looking for a way to spend your summer days?  How about painting the school? Dennis is seeking volunteers over the age of 21 to work between the hours of 6:30am and 2:30pm , Monday – Friday, beginning on June 2^nd and ending when the job is finished or August 15^th - whichever comes first.  Whether you can spare one day a week or five, we could use your help.  What a great outreach opportunity and a way to give your time and talent to the parish.  Please contact Dennis before April 1^st so he can begin his summer maintenance scheduling process. ST. CATHERINE TRAVEL GROUP    is planning a bus trip to New York , Philadelphia and Atlantic City September 19^th - 25^th.   The cost is $559 for 7 days and includes transportation, accommodations, 9 meals, guided tours and tips.  Call 781-3847 or 781-2232 for reservations or questions.  

ST. CATHERINE SIENA CLUB   Due to Easter and First Communion, there will be no April meeting.  The next Siena Club meeting will be held on May 17^th.  Be sure to mark you calendars - we’ll have lots to catch up on!

NEWPORT CENTRAL CATHOLIC DRAMA CLUB    will be performing the musical “Grease” this spring.  Performance dates are: Gala, Thursday, April 23^rd, (call school for info), April 24^th, 25^th & May 1^st & 2^nd at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 26^th at 3:00 p.m.   All tickets (excluding the Gala) are $8 and go on sale March 9^th.  They can be purchased by stopping by the school office or calling our ticket line at (859)292-0001.

FAST PITCH SOFTBALL   Newport Central Catholic High School is looking for 6th, 7th & 8th Grade girls who are interested in participating in the school’s Junior High Fast Pitch Softball Program this spring.  To participate students must be from one of our District Parishes: Divine Mercy, Holy Spirit, St. Bernard, St. Catherine, St. Thomas , or St. Therese.  If interested please contact Coach Denny Barnes at (859) 431-5844 regarding try-outs.

LENTEN EUCHARISTIC HEALING SERVICE      conducted by Fr. Greg Bramlage and the St. Nicholas, IN Parish Healing Ministry on Sunday, March 15^th, 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Center, 5440 Moeller Ave., Norwood.  There will be praise and worship music, Eucharistic procession and Laying on of Hands. ANSWER THE CALL   Catholic Men’s Conference will be held at Music Hall on Saturday, March 21^st from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.   Please consider attending or encourage the men in your family to attend.  The day is filled with inspirational speeches, praise music, reflection time and an opportunity to celebrate the sacrament of reconciliation and the Eucharist in the context of a special Mass with our regional bishops.  The young men in attendance will have a unique break out session just to hear guest speaker St. X Football Coach Specht at half price of $20 a ticket.
