IN OUR PARISH

HELP HOMELESS FAMILIES   through the Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) Monday-Wednesday, February 9th, 10th & 11th.  Assistance is needed in transporting families in the IHN van to and from Christ Church and the Day Center in Newport, preparing a meal, hosting a meal and spending the night. This is a great way for families and individuals to work together in service. New volunteers will be paired with experienced helpers so don’t let inexperience keep you from answering the call. Call Mindy Hoarston at 547-8415 for additional information or see the sign-up posters at the Rossford Avenue exit of church.   

ST. CATHERINE SIENA CLUB    will be meeting this Sunday, February 8th at 12:30 p.m. in McCrystal Hall.  If good friends, good food and lots of fun interest you - be sure to stop by!  

STEWARDSHIP FAIR   The Stewardship Fair will be held next weekend, February 14th & 15th after all masses.  Be sure to stop by McCrystal Hall to check out all the ways you can become involved at St. Catherine Parish.    

NEW MEMBER WELCOME BREAKFAST   will be held next Sunday, February 15th after the 9:00 a.m. mass (during the Stewardship Fair).  Please stop by to welcome the newest members of our parish.

PLAYERS SEEK MUSIC DIRECTOR FOR CHILDREN OF EDEN  The Players have begun rehearsing "Children of Eden" but are still seeking a Music Director to help lead music for rehearsals and to play for four April performances. PANCAKE AND SAUSAGE BREAKFAST     sponsored by the Knights of Columbus, Fr. Kehoe council in Ludlow and the Sisters of Notre Dame, will be held at Notre Dame Academy on Sunday, February 15th from 8:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.  Cost is $6.00 per adult and $4.00 for children under 12.  The proceeds will go to the Sisters of Notre Dame Mission in Uganda , East Africa .

 

MARDI GRAS        To be held at St. Thomas , in the school gym, on Saturday, February 21st from 7:00 p.m. - Midnight .  The evening includes music by Fast Forward, food, dancing, silent auction, raffles, and Beat the Dealer.  Tickets are $20 prepaid, $25 at the door.  For information/reservations call 781-8732. NEWPORT CENTRAL CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL    is proud to announce its ninth class of inductees into its Athletic Hall of Fame:  Jim Briede ’54, Stephanie Desmond ’95, Gary Devoto ’75, Mike Kiernan ’81, Mike Nolan ’71, and Dan Tombragle ’69.  Also being honored as the “Team of Distinction” is the 1967 Newport Catholic State Champion Wrestling Team. The induction ceremony  will occur on Saturday, February 21st in the NCC Gymnasium.  The evening will begin with a social hour at 6 PM followed by dinner and the ceremony at 7 PM .  Tickets are available for $25.00.  Sponsorships are available for $250.00 and include 10 tickets and your name in the program.  Additional tickets can be purchased through the School Office prior to February 15.  For more information contact Tessy B. NCCHS will be awarding the Coach Jim Connor Award to Mr. Ron Albrinck.  The Coach Jim Connor Award is an award being given to Mr. Albrinck for exemplifying the ideals and traditions of NCC and for the excellence he has achieved in his work and his personal life.  In addition, the Fr. John Hegenauer Community Service Award will be given to Mr. Carl Heck ’68, for his commitment and countless hours of service to Newport Central Catholic.  All proceeds from the event directly support the athletic programs at Newport Central Catholic.
