IN OUR PARISH

PRAYERS FOR AUDREY SHAY     Please keep Audrey and her family in your prayers. Her husband Bob passed away earlier this week.  For those of you who don't know Audrey, she was the parish secretary here for many years.  If you would like to send her a card, her address is 7 Yager Ct. , Erlanger , Ky 41018 .

PLEASE TAKE NOTE    Due to the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, the deadline for the November 29th bulletin will be Thursday, November 19th by noon .  Please keep this in mind if you have any submissions for that weekend’s bulletin.

PRAY FOR SAFE TRAVELING   Fr. Bob will be attending the National Youth Conference in Kansas City this coming week from Thursday – Sunday.  Please pray for a safe trip, not only for him, but for all those attending the conference.

WE WELCOME TO THE PARISH FAMILY THROUGH BAPTISM   Liam James Radulski, son of Neil and Stacey; Lillian Elise Reynolds, daughter of Jeff Jarboe and Doreen Reynolds; and Evan Scott Kelley and Levi Dominic Kelley, sons of Grace Kelley.  May God continue to bless these new members of the church and their families.

HELP HOMELESS FAMILIES   through the Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) Monday-Wednesday, November 16th, 17th 18th.   Assistance is needed in transporting families in the IHN van to and from Christ Church and the Day Center in Newport , preparing a meal, hosting a meal and spending the night. This is a great way for families and individuals to work together in service. New volunteers will be paired with experienced helpers so don’t let inexperience keep you from answering the call. Call Mindy Hoarston at 547-8415 for additional information or see the sign-up posters at the Rossford Avenue exit of church.

STEWARDSHIP OPPORTUNITY    Looking for a way to give back to your parish?  Consider being a greeter at a weekend mass.  The commitment is small, only one mass per month, but the rewards are great!  You will have the chance to welcome fellow parishioners as well as visitors to St. Catherine as they enter mass.  What a great way to not only meet new people, but to help bring the light of Christ to them as well.  This is an important ministry of our parish, as it lets everyone entering our doors know that they are welcome and wanted here.  If you would like to be a part of this, contact Paul and Ann Basham at 781-0012.

HAVE DINNER AND EARN MONEY FOR ST. CATHERINE   Today, Sunday, November 15th is St. Catherine Day at  Applebee’s (Highland Heights); Wednesday, November 18th, Papa John’s (Southgate).  Flyers for each night are available on the St. Catherine website or you can pick them up in the school or parish office. Our hope is that parishioners will be able to attend one of these nights – this is an easy way to earn extra money for the parish and it gives the chef in the family a night off!

PARISH NIGHT       Join us Wednesday, November 18th after evening mass for Session 2 in our Sharing Christ’s Priesthood book.  Fr. Stef will lead the open discussion as well as answer any questions you may have on the chapter.  Please try to read the material in advance of our gathering to take full advantage of the open discussion and the question and answer session.  Books are still available for purchase at the Parish Office for $8.

LUNCH WITH ST. NICK     Attention all Ages! The Catholic Order of Foresters will be sponsoring a Lunch with St. Nick again this year. It will be on his actual feast day, December 6! Join us for lunch, fun, a craft and a visit from St. Nick himself. Admission is a coloring book and crayons or $3 per person. Please contact Lisa Wormald at 781-6280 or lwormald@fuse.net to make your reservation. Hope to see everyone there!

HOMILIES ON CD    The October homilies are available on CD in the back of church.

THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR SUPPORT      Thanks to all those who contributed to our October Collection for the St. Bernard Pantry – it was our biggest collection to date! The collection items for November are tuna and noodles.  These donations will be taken to the pantry at the end of the month.  One of the corporal works of mercy is “to feed the hungry”.  With your help, we are able to do just that.

THANKSGIVING DAY COLLECTION   We will once again be donating our Thanksgiving Day collection of non perishable items and paper products to St. Bernard Pantry (this is in addition to our ongoing monthly collection).  They are trying to meet the needs of more than 250 families each month, and that number keeps growing. Any donation is appreciated, but they did say they are always running low on spaghetti, meat sauce, tuna and peanut butter.  Monetary donations of cash or checks made out to St. Bernard Pantry will also be accepted.

PARISH JESSE TREE PROJECT   The liturgical season of Advent is a few days away and with it comes St. Catherine's annual Jesse Tree project.  The Jesse Tree will be located in the church's prayer/meditation space, and will hold ornaments printed with gift ideas for local agencies that are in need of our assistance this Christmas season. The project will begin on Saturday, November 28th and continue until Sunday, December 13th.  It would be much appreciated if your family would take part in this worthwhile project by taking an ornament from the tree, purchasing the indicated item, and returning the item to the Jesse Tree area by December 13th.

UPDATE MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION    Does the church have your family membership record correct?  It is time for us to update our database with any changes, additions, or deletions that may have occurred in your family over the past year.  Have you changed your phone number?  Have you moved or are you planning to move soon?  Are all of your children still at home and are they all included in your  membership record?   Here is your chance to update your record for our annual Guide Book & Directory.  If you have not already informed the church office about any changes to your record, please let us know now so that the information in the new Guide Book is correct.  Our information will be transmitted to the company at the end of this month, so please inform us any changes as soon as possible.
