PRE-K RELIGION IN NEED OF VOLUNTEERS:  Have you been wondering how you can give back to the Church, but don’t have a lot of time to spare? We have an opportunity for you!  Pre-K Religion is in need of teachers that are Virtus certified.  We hope to begin offering classes in January and ending in early May, 2009. The time commitment is minimal and you will only “teach” every other Sunday (during 9am mass) which amounts to only 10 classes that you would help prepare. Please consider introducing the concepts of God and Bible stories into the lives of our 3-5 year olds.  Call Candace Doepker at 859-572-0113 for more information.   Parents - please pick up your forms in the back of church to enroll your children.  Children 3-5 who are potty trained are eligible.  Forms need to be returned by Jan 19, 2009.

ARE YOU MISSING A BOWL OR PLATTER?  If you have provided food for funerals and did not get your dish back, there is a variety of bowls, platters, etc. in the bar area in McCrystal Hall.  Please call the parish office to arrange pick up.

PRAYER HOTLINE   If you or someone you know needs prayer, or if you would like to join the group of "pray'ers"please contact Sandy Nagel at 441-6743 to join or to leave a prayer request.  Prayer is one of our greatest gifts from God.

DAY OF PRAYER AND PENANCE    has been declared on Thursday, January 22nd by Bishop Foys to mark the anniversary of the Supreme Court’s decision legalizing abortion.  Every church will remain open during the day to allow the faithful to pray for an end to abortion, to pray for all those affected by the tragedy of abortion, and to pray for the 50 million children murdered by abortion.  Every parish will also expose the Blessed Sacrament for period of time on this day.  Here at St. Catherine, we will have exposition from 8:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.   Finally, Bishop Foys has designated 10 churches to host a Holy Hour for Life beginning at 7:00 p.m. All members of the diocese are strongly encouraged to attend.  The complete list of churches can be found in the Messenger.  We must all do our part to protect the dignity of the human person and ensure the inalienable right to life for all - especially the unborn.
