ATTENTION MEN & WOMEN OF ST. CATHERINE!   Familia teams are forming now for the Fall.  What is Familia?  Familia offers a variety of parish programs that strengthen families by helping men and women live their vocation to marriage and parenthood in all its fullness.  Through dynamic group discussion on relevant topics, participants discover the message of authentic love in their vocation to marriage and through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  Programs for Fathers, Mothers and Couples are available. To learn more about Familia or to join a team, please contact: Maria Bozeman at mariabozeman@hotmail.com.

WHAT IS RCIA?   The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the sacramental formation process that prepares a person to become a member of the Roman Catholic Church.  Conversion is at the heart of the process.  The initiation of new members can only take place within the context of a community of believers.  The initiation of adults is the responsibility of all the baptized.    How Can Parish Members Become Involved in the RCIA Process?  One of the most essential parts of the formation process is the identification of candidates.  This is one instance where members of our faith community play a vital role.  Is there someone in your life who has expressed an interest in knowing more about our faith?  Do you have a spouse, neighbor, co-worker, or anyone who has spoken with you about this subject?  Ninety percent of our candidates come from referrals of parish members.  If you have someone in your life that would like to consider the possibility of becoming a Catholic, please call or have the potential candidate call the parish office (441-1352), Jeff Rosenstiel (803-3434), or Paul Meisenhelder (491-9455).  The RCIA classes begin on Thursday, September 18th, at 7:00 p.m. in the room next to the school library.  Please reach out to potential candidates and encourage them to make the call or volunteer to do so for them.

MARKET DAY    Enclosed in this week’s bulletin is a flyer for Market Day, a program that not only makes your grocery shopping easier, but it also helps raise money for the school and the parish.   This year, we are also tithing 10% of the profits to those who feed the poor in Northern Kentucky . Enjoy good food brought right to the parish for easy pickup.  The ordering deadline is Saturday, August 30th at 9 pm .  Find out more information on the school website, at www.marketday.com, or call Matt Connolly at 441-7195.

SATURDAY EVENING SACRISTAN   We are in need of a sacristan for the 4:30 p.m. Mass on Saturdays.  This is a very important job; the sacristan is responsible for most of the practical details of getting us ready for Mass, and a good sacristan frees me up to think about the things I need to think about.  The commitment is every Saturday.  If you think this would be something you would like to do, please speak with me.   Fr. Stef
