ATTENTION MEN & WOMEN OF ST. CATHERINE! Familia teams are forming now for the Fall. What is Familia? Familia offers a variety of parish programs that strengthen families by helping men and women live their vocation to marriage and parenthood in all its fullness. Through dynamic group discussion on relevant topics, participants discover the message of authentic love in their vocation to marriage and through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Programs for Fathers, Mothers and Couples are available. To learn more about Familia or to join a team, please contact: Maria Bozeman at mariabozeman@hotmail.com.
WHAT IS RCIA?
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the sacramental
formation process that prepares a person to become a member of the Roman
Catholic Church. Conversion is at
the heart of the process. The
initiation of new members can only take place within the context of a community
of believers. The initiation of
adults is the responsibility of all the baptized.
How Can Parish Members Become
Involved in the RCIA Process? One
of the most essential parts of the formation process is the identification of
candidates. This is one instance
where members of our faith community play a vital role.
Is there someone in your life who has expressed an interest in knowing
more about our faith? Do you have a
spouse, neighbor, co-worker, or anyone who has spoken with you about this
subject? Ninety percent of our
candidates come from referrals of parish members.
If you have someone in your life that would like to consider the
possibility of becoming a Catholic, please call or have the potential candidate
call the parish office (441-1352), Jeff Rosenstiel (803-3434), or Paul
Meisenhelder (491-9455). The RCIA
classes begin on Thursday, September 18th,
at

2008 DOMESTIC NEEDS COMBINED
COLLECTION will
be conducted next weekend in every parish and mission throughout our 14
counties. As the cost of living
continues to climb, millions of hard working families struggle to make ends meet
and keep food on their tables. One
of the collections supported by our Diocesan Domestic Needs Collection is the
Catholic Campaign for Human Development. CCHD
programs help create jobs, preserve affordable housing, improve neighborhoods,
enhance opportunities for youth, and allow people to find a dignified way out of
poverty. Please give to support the
Catholic Campaign for Human Development and other ministries supported by your
one gift: the Black and Indian Mission Appeal, the Catholic University of
America, the Catholic Home Mission Appeal, the Catholic Communications Campaign,
and our own local college, Thomas More.
