FROM THE PASTOR
I realize I have not explained the final disposition of the money we
received this past fiscal year in a bequest.
We received $196,000. In
consultation with the Finance Council and the Pastoral Council, I decided to
start an endowment. At this time,
the Finance Council feels that the best use of the income from this endowment
will be capital repairs/improvements. We
used most of the money for the endowment, but held some back to cover the
diocesan assessment, capital repairs and to cover this fiscal year’s projected
budget shortfall. The funds break
down as follows:
Bequest $196,000
Endowment $125,000
Diocesan Assessment on Bequest $22,369
Capital Repairs (in excess of 2007 DPAA) $29,829
Projected
Budget Shortfall
$18,802

Stuempel and Patty Chalk have done a wonderful job of organizing VBS for the
last several years, but they have decided to take a break next year and pass the
reigns on to another team. We thank
them and all who worked so hard to make our
