 IN OUR PARISH

STEWARDSHIP OPPORTUNITY    As part of the auditing process newly required by the diocese, guidelines concerning how parishes count the money from the collection have been clarified.  We must have at least two money-counting teams (different people) in rotation.  We need three to five people who could count the money on Monday morning.  The only requirements are honesty and the abilities to count and record figures.  Please call Mary in the office if you would like to be part of a counting team.

SERVICE OPPORTUNITY    Interfaith Hospitality Network needs volunteers for our next rotation at Christ  Church on July 14th, 15th & 16th.  The sign-up poster will be at the Rossford Avenue exit of church. Call Lisa Walburg at 441-4964 or Mindy Hoarston at 572-9798 for more information or to volunteer.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO LIST TO GOD’S MESSAGES WHILE DRIVING     Would you like to share His messages with a friend or a shut-in?   Fr. Stef’s June homilies are now available on CD. They can be picked up in the parish office during the week or in the back of church after the weekend Masses.

MANY PEOPLE PLAN VACATIONS,    but have you thought about a retreat?  St. Meinrad Retreat Center, one of the ministries of St. Meinrad Benedictine Abbey, offers retreats throughout the year.  We have put a booklet containing a description and schedule of their many retreats on the bulletin board inside the Rossford entrance to the church.  If you are not in the habit of making a yearly retreat you would be surprised at the impact it will make in your life.  St. Meinrad is close, about three hours away, and is a beautiful place to relax, retreat, and come closer to our Lord.

JAIL MINISTRY      The Deanery Pastoral Council has recently approved a plan for Jail Ministry.  We will be opening a half-time position for a Jail Ministry Coordinator at Catholic Charities beginning 1 January of next year.  This is a much-needed position.  I don=t know any of the details of this position, but if this ministry is something to which you think God might be calling you, contact Catholic Charities at 581-8974.           Fr. Stef

BUY SCRIP NOW FOR BLUEGRASS GAMES!  We have Marriott and many Lexington area restaurants available, also GAS CARDS to pay for the drive to the games. If you need something that we don't have, call Jennie Cox (441-5322) or Catherine Ampfer (441-1908) and we can order it for you.

ATTENTION HEALTH MINISTRY VOLUNTEERS   Please submit volunteer hours and committee name for June to Cheri Hunter by email at cheri_hunter2000@yahoo.com, phone at 781-4507, or leave a note in the box by the parking lot door.  If you have any unreported hours from other months, just submit those with the May hours.  The hours are reported to St. Elizabeth on a quarterly basis - so you are never too late to report hours.  Thanks again for your help in this matter.

BABY BOTTLE BOOMERANG     Please remember to return your baby bottles in the next couple of weeks. There will be collection boxes at the Rossford and Ft. Thomas Ave. entrances. Thank you for helping Care Net Pregnancy Centers!

ELSEWHERE

DEAR PRO LIFE FRIENDS     What an exciting opportunity!  Right here in Cincinnati , on Mon. July 14th at 10 am , in the very midst of the NAACP's national convention, you can stand in support of a major media press conference of African American national and local leaders who are calling on the United States Congress to De-Fund Planned Parenthood! These African American leaders understand the bigotry and devastation of racial genocide that Planned Parenthood is inflicting upon their community as recently demonstrated in Planned Parenthood's purchase of a medical facility within 200  yards of Western Hills High School - a large predominately minority high school here in Cincinnati. An earlier press conference in Washington DC received much secular coverage across America ...the "tipping point" may be here! Would you be willing to be part of the audience and "Take a Stand For Life"? Join with our African-American pro-life friends, standing shoulder to shoulder with them in support at this press conference.  Bring the family and be a part of history in the making!  Dr. Alveda King, the niece of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and a national spokesperson for Silent No More, is a featured speaker. More Info is available at  www.silentnomoreawareness.org, www.ProtectingBlackLife.org, www.ProtectCincinnati.org, www.ALL.org/STOPP.  Together with God's grace, we can make a difference...for life!
