HELP HOMELESS FAMILIES   through the Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) Monday-Wednesday, May 5th, 6th, & 7th. Assistance is needed in transporting families in the IHN van to and from Christ Church and the Day Center in Newport , preparing a meal, hosting a meal and spending the night. This is a great way for families and individuals to work together in service. New volunteers will be paired with experienced helpers so don’t let inexperience keep you from answering the call. Call Lisa Walburg at 441-4964 for additional information or see the sign-up posters at the Rossford Avenue exit of church.

ATTENTION 2008 HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS     St. Catherine of Siena wishes to honor each of you on your successful completion of twelve years of learning on May 18th at the 9:00 a.m. mass, followed by a reception in McCrystal Hall.  If you are a graduate this year and have not received a letter, please call the parish office.

SAND VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE    Preliminary plans are being made to have a Sunday late afternoon/early evening co-ed volleyball league.  Games will be played on the sand courts in the Boden’s side yard.  Depending on how many people are interested, we could have an upper and lower division.  Please call Judy at 781-3890 if you are interested in getting a team together or have any questions or suggestions.  This league will be sponsored by the Boosters and will be a fun raiser.  There will, however, be some entry fee to cover costs of getting the courts ready and for officials.  The Bodens have graciously offered their yard for family picnicking and socializing before and after the games.

DO YOU HAVE ANY EXTRA ROSARIES?     Rosaries are being collected for the Youth Mission Trip to Belize .  They will be given to Belizian Catholics as a sharing in our faith.  Please place donated rosaries in the basket in the back of church near the Rossford exit. Please call Joe or Pat Brennan at 781-2711 with any questions.

FESTIVAL 2008   Once again, we will have our dollar envelope booth.  We are looking for donations of new toys, games, books, and stuffed animals.  Please call Tammy Schroder, 781-2412 if you have any questions and/or donations.

USE YOUR GIFTS IN SERVICE TO ONE ANOTHER     Thank you!  Our gratitude to the Lord and our generosity to others has raised over $29,000.00 to date for the 2008 DPAA.  You too can answer God’s call to share your gifts by helping to support the work of your Church in all areas of ministry funded by gifts to the DPAA.  Your gift will feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, provide resources for our parishes and schools, educate our children, care for our retired priests, strengthen families, and fight for the unborn.  Some of the ministries funded by the Appeal benefit all of us.  But a lot of the ministries benefit our brothers and sisters in need.  Ninety-two cents or less of every dollar given to the Appeal is used for ministry and service.  Once our parish reaches our goal, any additional funds we collect will be returned to our parish to use for capital improvements.  Please make a gift to the Appeal and change lives for the better each and every day.  Respond with a grateful and glad heart for all God has done for you.  May we all be blessed for all that we do for one another.  Thank you again for your generosity.  God bless you!
