IN OUR PARISH

OUR DEEPEST SYMPATHY    is extended to the family and friends of Joan Deitschle who was buried from our parish last week.  Please keep Joan and her family in your prayers.

WE WELCOME     to our parish family through baptism:  Josie Elizabeth Bozeman, daughter of Brian and Maria; Hayden Elizabeth Gessner, daughter of Matthew and Mandy; and Frances Brue Smith, daughter of Patrick and Joy.  May this day be the beginning of a life filled with God's mercy, grace andlove, and a future blessed with happiness and hope.

STEWARDSHIP FAIR    The next stewardship fair will be held after all masses this weekend.  Be sure to stop by McCrystal Hall and find out about all the ways you can use your time and talents to be of service to your parish.

CHANGE IN WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY MASS TIMES    Due to the 8th grade promotion ceremony being held on Wednesday, May 28th, the daily mass will be at 8:00 a.m. instead of   7:00 p.m. The Thursday morning mass on May 29th, will be held at 9:00 a.m. due to this being the last day of school.

CHANGES FOR SUMMER   As of this Friday, May 30th, the Friday daily mass will begin at 8:00 a.m.   This time change will be in effect until August 22nd.  The parish office will begin summer hours of  9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 9th. These summer hours will be in effect until August 11th.

EXTRAORDINARY MINISTER OF HOLY COMMUNION    If you would like to serve the Lord  and our parish by being a minister of holy communion, please contact Kim Lampe at 441-9955 or klampe@fuse.net.  Those who wish to serve in this capacity will be contacted about a training session and a date to be commissioned.

READY, SET, CHARGE     We currently offer parishioners the opportunity to give their contribution to the parish via EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) and are now making available another new way of making monthly contributions to the parish.  We are willing to offer the parish the opportunity to make their monthly contributions with either Mastercard or Visa.  We in no way are suggesting that anyone finance their parish contribution through the use of credit cards, however, some credit card companies offer incentives, rebates, etc…  This could possibly help you earn sky miles or a cashback bonus. Our goal in doing this is to make tithing more convenient for you.  If you have any questions about this, please contact Mary Brzinski in the parish office, 441-1352, ext. 14.

FESTIVAL 2008   Once again, we will have our dollar envelope booth.  We are looking for donations of new toys, games, books, and stuffed animals.  Please call Tammy Schroder, 781-2412 if you have any questions and/or donations.

NEW THIS YEAR AT THE FESTIVAL  COIN CAPERS!!!   Clean out those "spare change" jars and fill up the container for the St. Catherine school and CCD student(s) of your choice.  We will have a spare change jar for each grade level at the Silent Auction booth.  The class with the highest dollar value collected will win a special treat when school starts again (we hear donuts, pizza, and/or an out of uniform day may be in the works!!).  So, come join in the fun and support your son, daughter, grandson, granddaughter, niece, nephew, neighbor, or favorite kid in the St. Catherine Coin Capers!

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL REGISTRATION 2008   This year VBS will be held August 4th - 8th.  Our theme is Son World Adventure Park VBS.  Registration forms are now available on the St. Catherine website, in the back of church and in the school and parish offices.  Please take a moment and get your kids signed up early!  You can also use the same form if you wish to be a volunteer.  We promise a faith-filled and fun week for participants and volunteers!  Don’t miss out.   Any questions, call Patty Chalk at 441-0560 or Heather Stuempel at 781-6122.

HOMILIES ON CD       Fr. Stef’s homilies from the Easter season are now available and can be picked up in the back of church or in the parish office.

WE NEED YOU!     Bridge players needed to swell our shrinking groups.  You don’t have to be a “master”, but if you enjoy cards and having a good time, you are invited to join any of our 4 groups.  Also, if you are new to St. Catherine parish, it is a great way to meet some of your future friends.  Play is usually from September thru May.  We have a couples group, a men’s group, a ladies group that meets in the afternoon and a ladies luncheon group that meets the 4th Tuesday morning at Highland Country Club.  For more information, please call Rose Marie Dusing at 781-1828.  St. Catherine benefits from our playing.

THE EAGLE PROJECT       is St. Catherine of Siena ’s Estate and Gift Legacy Education Project. It is a brand new parish project to facilitate the desire of many parishioners to include St. Catherine Parish in their estate planning.  Our goal is to educate parishioners on the best ways to leave strong legacies of faith to honor their God, their Church and their Family while, as good stewards, they also provide maximum positive tax impact on their estates.  At this time we are looking for members of the parish who are interested attorneys or financial planning professionals to be part of our advisory and support group.  If you would like more information please contact David Garner at (859) 466-7052 or email dm_garner@yahoo.com.
