Some of you have remarked that the budget figure in the
bulletin is not always the same. We
used to take our yearly budget figure, divide it by 52, and that was the budget
number presented in the bulletin each week.
The problem with this approach is that in January, or other months when
contributions are usually low, it appears that we are under budget expectations;
and in December, or other months when contributions normally rise, it appears
that we are above budget expectations.
What we are trying to do is show a budget figure, which more accurately
reflects budget expectations for each month.
PLEASE PRAY FOR OUR SICK Paul Hudepohl, Don Baumann, Rose Schutzman and Joan Deitschle. Also, remember our parishioners in nursing homes as well as those confined to their homes in your prayers.

NOTE
FROM THE FINANCE COUNCIL The finance council met this past Thursday. Among other things, we
reviewed January and February income. Two
things were positive: the Love Boat
event brought in almost $39,000, a record for this fundraiser; and the pledges
made during the Offertory program totaled close to $858,000.
What is troubling is that our Sunday collections are not meeting the
pledged expectations. We are in the process of formulating next year’s budget,
and are concerned that shortfalls this year will mean more cuts in next year’s
budget.
OFFERTORY
PROGRAM UPDATE As part of the Offertory program, we are required to send out regular
reminders, much like the quarterly statements you already receive.
The first reminders will be mailed this week.
We ask you to review yours carefully.
Call Mary in the office with any questions or comments.
LENTEN
SERVICE PROJECT If you did not get a Lenten bag or are able to fill another
one, please take one
from the back of Church. Fill the bag with the items on the list and
return it to the Baptistry by 8:00am on Good Friday for distribution.
Please be sure to leave the colored list on the bag so that we know where the
items go. The agencies are colored coded and many have specific needs.
Once again we will be distributing the items on Good Friday so mark your
calendars and plan to help. This is an important St. Catherine tradition.
The agencies really depend on us. Let’s see if we can fill all the bags
available.
THANKS!
The men's
CRHP #2 giving team would like to thank the parishioners for your prayers and
support and the receiving team for a great weekend. The weekend was amazing and
the facility at the Providence Center allowed us to feel close to the parish,
yet isolated on our own island for quiet prayer and reflection. Special
thanks goes to the women's CRHP #2 giving team, the Greis family and the St.
Catherine Men's Group for catering some great meals. We would also like to
thank Fr. Stef Bankemper and Msgr. Cooney for all their support. The Lay
Director and Spiritual Director for the next CRHP team will be Jack Rose and Kip
Perkins respectively. Plans are already underway for the next CRHP
weekend. Thank you again. CRHP Team #2

INTERNATIONAL MISSION NEEDS COMBINED COLLECTION Thank you to all who contributed to our Diocesan special International Mission Needs Collection for the humanitarian work of five Catholic organizations that bring the love and peace of Christ to our suffering brothers and sisters throughout the world. Your gifts will serve millions of men, women, and children who are wrenched from their homes and forced into exile because of war, famine, persecution, natural disaster, and other calamities. Thank you for your love and generous stewardship. If you haven't had the opportunity to make your gift, please drop your collection envelope into the offertory basket today or next weekend. You may also mail your gift to the parish or Diocese.

Prayer
for the Safety of Soldiers
almighty
and eternal God, those who take refuge in you will be glad and forever will
shout for joy. Protect these
soldiers as they discharge their duties. Protect
them with the shield of your strength and keep them safe from all evil and harm.
May the power of your love enable them to return home in safety, that
with all who love them, they may ever praise you for your loving care.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
