TO
THE PARISHIONERS OF ST. CATHERINE I
want to let you all know how much I appreciate your thoughts, prayers and love
over the past few weeks. This is
certainly a hard time for me, but I am sure that my family at St. Catherine will
help me through it. With
many thanks, Bud Cross
LENTEN
SCRIPTURE STUDY will
begin immediately following Ash Wednesday mass and will continue every Wednesday
during Lent. This can be a great
opportunity to more fully experience this holy season.
DOES
YOUR SPIRITUAL LIFE NEED A BOOST? If
so, why not try CRHP? It’s only
one weekend, but the effects could last a lifetime!
The next Women’s CRHP weekend is February 9th & 10th
and is open to all women of the parish. The
next Men’s CRHP Weekend will be February 16th & 17th
and is open to all men of the parish. Prayerfully consider this
opportunity to renew yourself and the parish. Anyone interested or for
more information please contact Rob Hans (men) at 441-5430 or rlhans@fuse.net or Sheila Carroll (women) at 491-8771.
THE
MEN IN BLACK TOUR CONTINUES with "Male and Female He Created Them." Join us Sunday,
February 10th at 7:00 pm in church as Fr. Jeff Von Lehman, pastor
at St. Patrick's, gives a talk on understanding our sexual dynamics.
Listen as he discusses why our sexuality has become disfigured by a culture that
has forgotten the sheer beauty of this gift created by God. Questions call
Terri 859-441-3438 or Sharon 859-441-1069.
VOLUNTEERS
NEEDED for the upcoming
St. Catherine Fish Fries. Lent is right around the corner, and
that means the fish fries are also! The Social Life Committee is in need
of volunteers to help serve that wonderfully tasty fish provided by Green Derby.
It is a great way to have fun with fellow parishioners and to also meet new
people. Fish fry dates are February 15th and March 7th,
from 4:30 to 7:30. If interested, please call Mary Meyer at 291-7771.
HOMILIES
ON CD Fr. Stef’s January homilies are available on cd and can be
picked up in the back of
church or in the parish office.
FR.
MIKE COMER’S TALK “Journey into Faithfulness” is available on CD and can be
purchased in the
parish office for $2.00.
THE HEARTFUL QUILTERS met for the first time on Monday, January 21 and we had 7
ladies join us for our first gathering. While some knitted, others worked
together to create a baby quilt. One ambitious lady even took home supplies to
make another quilt by next month! Some of the ladies who helped are not sewers
but we had jobs for them also! Please join us and we can find a job for you! We
will be meeting in McCrystal Hall on the 3rd Monday of each month (February 18).
Bring supplies if you have them or use some of ours, just come and join the fun!
If you do not drive at night, but would like to come, please contact Betsy at
441-3463 or Pat at 781-2711 for a ride.
PARISH CLEAN UP DAY
We're going to try this again. We want our church spic-n-span
for Easter, right??? This day is
meant to take care of the things that are not on the regular cleaning list of
our wonderful group of monthly volunteers. The date has been rescheduled
for Saturday, March 1st. We can make it a party... bring the
kids. (This is a great opportunity for service hours). We will start at 9am and
have to finish before 3pm, due to mass and a wedding. Why not get your family
and friends together, come on up to church and show off your amazing cleaning
talents!
LOOKING FOR AN EASIER WAY TO FULFILL YOUR OFFERTORY
COMMITMENT? Having
a hard time remembering to bring your donation each Sunday? Want to give back to
God from your surplus instead of your leftovers? EFT may be the answer to your
dilemma. Your offertory commitment may be fulfilled by having a monthly
withdrawal from your checking account through
Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). The withdrawal can take place either on
the 15th or the 30th of the month. If you would like more information, please
contact Mary Brzinski in the parish office 441-1352 extension 14 or email at mbrzinski@stcatherineofsiena.org.
SERVER
AND EUCHARISTIC MINISTER SCHEDULES
