IN OUR PARISH

ROSARY PRAYER GROUP   will be meeting on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 pm during Lent.

LENTEN SERVICE PROJECT   The grocery bags for the Lenten Project will be passed out after all masses next weekend. Take a bag, fill it with the items on the list, and return it before Good Friday morning. Take 2 bags if you feel generous this season. The agencies are very much in need of our help. The bags will be distributed to the local agencies on Good Friday morning.

STATE OF THE PARISH MINUTES   On January 28, 2008, we held the State of the Parish Address for St. Catherine of Siena.  Minutes from the meeting are available for viewing on the Parish website.  If you do not have internet access and would like a copy, please contact Mary Brzinski in the church office,  441-1352 ext. 14.   As requested on the night of the State of the Parish Address, we are also publishing our capital improvements repairs list.

CHANGES IN THE OFFICE   I have accepted a full time position with Care Net Pregnancy Services of Northern Kentucky beginning February 25th. I have prayed over my decision and feel God's calling, to work in this ministry. It was a difficult decision, because I love my work here at St. Catherine.  I will miss all of your smiling faces on Thursdays and Fridays, but know you will kept in good hands because Teresa will now be working Monday through Friday. Thank you all for allowing me to be part of your church family.  God’s Blessings, Tara

WOMEN’S CRHP WEEKEND   was inspirational and refreshing.  Women's Team 2 would like to express appreciation for everyone who assisted with the  weekend.  Thanks to: Father Stef; the groups that provided food and clean up; the men who set up and put everything back; all the members of Team 2 who participated fully in the assigned tasks; the parish staff who were so cooperative; the parish community who prayed for us; and the Holy Spirit who stayed with us during the preparatory year and especially during the weekend.

HELP HOMELESS FAMILIES   through the Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) Monday-Wednesday, March 3, 4 and 5. Assistance is needed in transporting families in the IHN van to and from Christ Church and the Day Center in Newport, preparing a meal, hosting a meal and spending the night. This is a great way for families and individuals to work together in service. New volunteers will be paired with experienced helpers so don’t let inexperience keep you from answering the call. Call Lisa Walburg at 441-4964 for additional information or see the sign-up posters at the Rossford Avenue exit of church.  Thank you to Jim and Bev Stegman who have helped with set-up for IHN at Christ Church for every rotation since St. Catherine became a support church many years ago. Their hard work has been greatly appreciated by the volunteers at both churches and by the countless homeless families they have served. Jim and Bev helped set-up guest rooms on the Sunday before our rotation and we will need to provide that service with new volunteers starting this next rotation. If you are interested in helping with the set-up on March 2nd at Christ Church for about 1 hour please call Lisa Walburg.

BRANSON BUS TRIP   St. Catherine Senior Travel Group is planning a 7 day bus trip to Branson, Missouri...April 27 - May 3.  Cost $595, includes transportation, accommodations, meals,  tips, and shows.  Please call JoAnn 781-3847 or Lois 781-2232.
