JESSE
TREE THANK YOU
“I would like to thank you for your generous support of the 2007
Project Merry Christmas program. The toys, food, clothes and other articles
that your parish donated were pivotal in allowing us to serve over 350 children
and adults in need during this last Christmas season. Thank you for your
kind outpouring of charity, time and prayers for us in Lewis County. Peace
and God Bless, Joe Grosek, Glenmary Volunteer Director”
SPARE CHANGE SUNDAY
The
students from the Belize Mission Group will be collecting your spare change
after all masses this weekend. All
proceeds will go to help fund the Belize Trip 2008.
LENTEN
SCRIPTURE STUDY will be
held immediately following all Wednesday masses during Lent.
This can be a great opportunity to more fully experience this holy
season.
THE
MEN IN BLACK TOUR CONTINUES with "Male and Female He Created Them." Join us
today, Sunday, February 10th at 7:00 pm in church as Fr. Jeff
Von Lehman, pastor at St. Patrick's, gives a talk on understanding our sexual
dynamics. Listen as he discusses why our sexuality has become disfigured
by a culture that has forgotten the sheer beauty of this gift created by God.
Questions call Terri 859-441-3438 or Sharon 859-441-1069.
VOLUNTEERS
NEEDED for the upcoming
St. Catherine Fish Fries. Lent is right around the corner, and
that means the fish fries are also! The Social Life Committee is in need
of volunteers to help serve that wonderfully tasty fish provided by Green Derby.
It is a great way to have fun with fellow parishioners and to also meet new
people. Fish fry dates are February 15th and March 7th,
from 4:30 to 7:30. If interested, please call Mary Meyer at 291-7771.
HOMILIES
ON CD Fr. Stef’s January homilies are available on CD and can be
picked up in the back of
church or in the parish office.
FR.
MIKE COMER’S TALK “Journey into Faithfulness” is available on CD and can be
purchased in the
parish office for $2.00.
THE HEARTFUL QUILTERS met for the first time on Monday, January 21 and we had 7
ladies join us for our first gathering. While some knitted, others worked
together to create a baby quilt. One ambitious lady even took home supplies to
make another quilt by next month! Some of the ladies who helped are not sewers
but we had jobs for them also! Please join us and we can find a job for you! We
will be meeting in McCrystal Hall on the 3rd Monday of each month (February
18th). Bring supplies if you have them or use some of ours, just
come and join the fun! If you do not drive at night, but would like to
come, please contact Betsy at 441-3463 or Pat at 781-2711 for a ride.
PARISH
CLEAN UP DAY We're going
to try this again. We want our church spic-n-span for Easter, right???
This day is meant to take care of the things that are not on the regular
cleaning list of our wonderful group of monthly volunteers. The date has
been rescheduled for Saturday, March 1st. We can make it a
party... bring the kids. (This is a great opportunity for service hours). We
will start at 9am and have to finish before 3pm, due to mass and a wedding. Why
not get your family and friends together, come on up to church and show off your
amazing cleaning talents!
LOOKING FOR AN EASIER WAY TO FULFILL YOUR OFFERTORY
COMMITMENT? Having
a hard time remembering to bring your donation each Sunday? Want to give back to
God from your surplus instead of your leftovers? EFT may be the answer to your
dilemma. Your offertory commitment may be fulfilled by having a monthly
withdrawal from your checking account through
Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). The withdrawal can take place either on
the 15th or the 30th of the month. If you would like more information, please
contact Mary Brzinski in the parish office 441-1352 extension 14 or email at mbrzinski@stcatherineofsiena.org.
SERVER
AND EUCHARISTIC MINISTER SCHEDULES
can now be picked up in the usher’s room.
Please
be sure to stop and get your schedule.
A NEWLY CREATED
SERVER SUBSTITUE PAGE is now available on the web. This page is designed as
a communication tool to help servers find substitutes when scheduling conflicts
arise. If you are a server who is
looking to find a sub for a specific serving commitment or if you are available
to be a substitute, log on to St. Catherine’s website and check out this new
page. Click on the schedules
icon and then click on servers.
ATTENTION

submit volunteer hours and committee name for January to Cheri Hunter by
email at cheri_hunter2000@yahoo.com,
phone at 781-4507, or leave a note in the box by the parking lot door.
If you have any unreported hours from other months, just submit those
with the December hours. The hours are reported to St. Elizabeth on a quarterly basis
