IN OUR PARISH

WE WELCOME   to our parish family through baptism: Elise Ann Hellmann, daughter of Michael and  Erin. May she always know God’s blessings.

FAITHFUL CITIZENSHIP    Two Wednesdays ago, as part of our Parish Night, Fr. Patrick Delahanty presented a program about the opportunities that Catholics, indeed all Christians, have to bring the Gospel to bear on our lives as citizens. There are many resources put out by the United States bishops to help Catholics be better Christian citizens, and to guide us as we make decisions on the upcoming elections.  Their website B www.faithfulcitizenship.org B is a good place to browse for materials and information.  I call your attention to two things in particular:  a novena to pray until the election B let us not forget prayer as part of our preparation for voting B and the booklet, Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship: A Call to Political Responsibility from the Catholic Bishops of the United States .  If you do not have internet access, call the office, and I can make some materials available to you.        Fr. Stef

INSPIRATIONAL CD’S     Fr. Stef’s September homilies are now available on CD in the back of  church.

EUCHARISTIC MINISTER AND SERVER SCHEDULES    The new schedules are finished and available for pick up in the back of church.  Please pick up your schedule today.

THE MANY FACES OF PRO-LIFE NEWSPAPER AD SIGN UP TODAY   Signatures will be taken after all masses this weekend for a multi-page ad that will appear in the Kentucky Enquirer in January to mark the 36th anniversary of the Roe vs. Wade decision that legalized abortion. Bishop Foys invites you to join him and list your name as a Face of Pro-Life!

MARKET DAY    The flier for the pre-Thanksgiving sale is in today's bulletin.  The order sheet can be filled out and left at the school office before Friday this week, or go online at www.marketday.com to place your order and see what's on clearance as well.  This month St. Catherine receives a bonus for every pie ordered, so please get your Thanksgiving pies from us.  Also, we are asking everyone to order one more pie, and we'll donate that one to Sr. Maddalena at the Parish Food Pantry at Holy Trinity (St. Bernard) in Dayton .  She will give families vouchers for Thanksgiving meals and a pie for their dessert, thanks to your generosity.  Pickup is scheduled for Thursday Oct 30th at 5:30pm .  Call Matt Connolly at 750-2385 with any questions or problems.

THE BELIZE GROUP 2008    is sincerely grateful to all those at St. Catherine parish for supporting and praying for their life-changing mission trip.  As a thank you, the group is donating their excess funds of $1100.00 to the parish.  Fr. Stef will use the money for creating a gathering space outside of the Rossford entrance to the church.

ATTENTION HEALTH MINISTRY VOLUNTEERS    St. Elizabeth has changed their method of reporting volunteer hours.  They would like each volunteer to report their own hours on the St. Elizabeth website, www.stelizabeth.com. If you would like a copy of the instructions and have not received one, please call Cheri Hunter at 781-4507, drop a note in the Health Ministry box, or email at cheri_hunter2000@yahoo.com.  Thank you.
