IN OUR PARISH

MASS TIME CHANGES   Friday morning masses will continue to be at 8:00 a.m., even during the school year.  Also, beginning September 5th, Wednesday mass will be in the evening at 7:00 p.m. instead of 8:00 a.m.  Please take note that any meetings taking place on Wednesdays may not begin until after mass.  Also, if you are scheduled to serve a Wednesday mass, it will be at 7:00 p.m. (not 8:00 a.m. as stated on the server schedule).

HOMILIES ON CD     Fr. Stef’s August homilies are now available on CD and can be picked up in the back of church or in the parish office.

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION    St. Catherine School collects Box Tops for Education which appear on most General Mills, Pillsbury, Betty Crocker, Go-Gurt, Trix Yogurt and Zip Loc products, just to name a few.  For a complete list of products, please visit www.boxtops4education.com.  The school receives 10 cents for each box top - these really add up!  They can be turned in to the school office, or you may drop them off in the box at the Rossford Ave. church entrance.  Thanks for your support.

PANCAKE BREAKFAST    Sponsored by the Foresters and the Belize Mission Group will be today,  Sunday, September 2nd in McCrystal Hall after the 9:00 a.m. mass.  Free will donations will be accepted to support the Belize mission trip.  Stop by after mass, (or before 11:30 mass), and enjoy a delicious breakfast with fellow parishioners while supporting a worthy cause!

PRAYER GARDEN       Our prayer garden is in need of a little TLC.  Come and help clean up this area and make it a beautiful place for prayer and meditation.   This is a great way to earn service hours and to be a good steward of the church.   If you would like to volunteer to help, contact Sandy Nagel - 441-6743.

CCD PROGRAM     St. Catherine’s CCD Program will hold its opening on Sunday, September 9th.  Class begins for parents and students at 10:15 a.m.  Please do not be late!  A welcoming reception will follow in the gym.  Contact David Kohrs at kohrssd@fuse.net or 441-1069 with any questions.

COMPUTER TECH SUPPORT   Do you have any programming knowledge with the Linux Operating Systems?  If so, we could use your stewardship of time in helping us to program some needed changes on the school server.  Please contact Doug Lonneman if you can help in any way.

ADULT CHOIR   Anyone interested in joining the St. Catherine adult choir, please contact music director, Denise Dirkes, at 441-1352, ext. 15.  The choir practices on Thursday evenings at 7:30 p.m.  The first practice will be held on September 6th.

WHAT IS RCIA?   The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the sacramental formation process that prepares individuals for a particular way of life - as a member of the Roman Catholic Church.  Conversion is at the heart of that way of life.  The initiation of new members can only take place within the context of a community of believers.  The initiation of adults is the responsibility of all the baptized. How can parish members become involved in the RCIA process? One of the most essential parts of the formation process is the identification of candidates.  This is one instance where members of our faith community play a vital role.  Is there someone in your life who has expressed an interest in knowing more about our faith?  Do you have a spouse, neighbor, co-worker, or anyone who has spoken with you about this subject?  Ninety percent of our candidates come from referrals of parish members.  If you have someone in your life that would like to consider the possibility of becoming a Catholic, please call or have the potential candidate call the parish office (441-1352), Jeff Rosenstiel (803-3434), or Paul Meisenhelder (491-9455).  The RCIA classes begin on Thursday, September 20th, at 7:30 p.m. in the room next to the school library.  Please reach out to potential candidates and encourage them to make the call or volunteer to do so for them.
