THANK YOU "Dear Father Bankemper: I just wanted to take a few minutes of your time to say “Thank You” to you and your parishioners for the success of the 2007 Mission Appeals this summer at St. Catherine. The great hospitality of your parish has been glowingly related to us by Rev. Dante Mejillano SSS. From what Father says you truly have a very lively Christian Community. It also looks like you have a very generous group of Parishioners as the collection amounted to $1896.50 which was forwarded to us. You can be sure that we will keep you and your special people in our prayers and daily hours of Adoration." Yours in Christ Eucharistic, Thomas A. Wiese, SSS - Mission Director, Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament.
CHRIST RENEWS HIS PARISH The men's and women's CHRP retreat weekends are being rescheduled for the early part of 2008. Please prayerfully consider participating in very rewarding program. If you would like to find out more about CHRP, please call Sheila Carroll (women’s) at 491-8771 or Rob Hans (men’s) at 441-5430.
PRO
LIFE MEETING The St Catherine
Pro Life Committee will meet Monday, Sept. 17th at 7:00 p.m. in the library meeting room. We are gearing up for
Pro Life month in October and need as many helping hands as possible. If you
have any questions, call Catherine Ampfer @ 441-1908.
WELCOME
NEW MEMBERS AT PARISH FEST The
Social Life Committee has decided to team up with the organizers of Parish Fest
to welcome our newest members. Instead of having the Welcome Breakfast that was
scheduled for September 30th, they will introduce new members at
Parish Fest, which will be held on Saturday, September 29th
after 4:30 mass in the lower parking. There will be food, drinks, music,
children’s games and cornhole. Make
plans to come and socialize with fellow parishioners and meet the newest members
of the St. Catherine family.
PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL
Our
meetings are on the third Wednesday of every month immediately after Mass
(at about 7:45 pm) in the Library. Meetings are open to all parishioners, but
please contact the parish office or a Council member if you want to request to
add an item to the Agenda. We plan to put the Agenda on the parish website a
week before each meeting. Our focus for this year will be on building spiritual
and social community in our parish. Our members will be wearing name tags
whenever we're at St. Catherine, to encourage parishioners and Council members
to meet each other and to share ideas for improving all aspects of parish life
and ministry.
THE
"ART" OF PRAYING by
Fr. Stef Bankemper will be presented on Sunday, October 7th at
7:00 p.m. in church. Using varied
art pieces, including those created by Sr. Marie Pierre Semler of New York, Fr.
Stef will guide us through prayer and meditations that flow from art.
The art will be on display in McCrystal Hall prior to the talk from 4:00
- 7:00 p.m.
ATTENTION
HEALTH MINISTRY VOLUNTEERS Please
submit volunteer hours and committee name for August to Cheri Hunter by
email at cheri_hunter2000@yahoo.com,
phone at 781-4507, or leave a note in the box by the parking lot door.
If you have any unreported hours from other months, just submit those
with the May hours. The hours are
reported to St. Elizabeth on a quarterly basis
- so you are never too late to report hours.
Thanks again for your help in this matter.
DO
YOU SHOP AT REMKE? If
so, be sure to fill out a form that designates a percentage of the money you
spend there to St. Catherine. Even
if you have completed a form in the past, you have to fill out a new one in
order to be included in the program. Forms
can be found in the back of church or in the parish office. Completed forms can
be dropped off at Remke, in the parish office or to the person selling Scrip
after masses. Also, don't
forget about the wide variety of gift cards available from Scrip. Whether you're
going out to eat, picking up pizza or fast food, shopping for every day needs or
filling up your gas tank, we have gift cards for you!
This is the easiest way you can earn money for our parish without any
extra out of pocket cost to you. If
you have any questions about the program, please call Kathy Saalfeld at
781-2802, Gail Williams at 781-6967 or the parish office at 441-1352.
