HOMILIES ON CD     Fr. Stef's July homilies are now available on CD and can be picked up in the back of church or in the parish office.

RECEPTION FOR BOB ROTTGERS     will be held in McCrystal Hall on Sunday, August 12th after the 11:30 a.m. mass.  The reception will be a celebration of Bob's candidacy to the priesthood and a send-off as he will be returning to Mundelein on August 17th.  Please stop by to congratulate, say good-bye and thank Bob for all he has done for this parish in the last several months.

FORESTER DAY AT CONEY ISLAND   will be on Sunday, August 19th.  The day will include admission to all rides, swimming at Sunlite Pool, free soft drinks and ice cream.  Admission tickets are normally $15.50, but with the State Court helping out tickets will be $8.00 for all Forester members, and parking tickets are $5.00. CAFETERIA WORKERS NEEDED   Anyone interested in working in the Cafeteria this coming school year, please call Judy Leick at 781-3890.  Report time is 10:45 and depending on whether you stay for lunch you can be finished by 12:30.  The kids love seeing a familiar face, (mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, aunt, uncle) during lunch so if interested give me a call.  You only have to work once a month.

IN OUR DIOCESE

VOLUNTEER NEEDED    The Sisters of the Good Shepherd in Ft. Thomas are looking for someone to provide companionship to one of our Sisters. You will be accompanying her on short walks inside and outside the facility and assisting her with AOL emails.  It would be twice a week for one hour. Computer knowledge and experience using a laptop is helpful but not required.  We are looking for someone with a pleasing personality, lots of patience and must be flexible.  If interested, please call Barb Barker, volunteer coordinator at 441-5531 during regular business hours. 

NEWPORT CENTRAL CATHOLIC    will host its 24th Annual Alumni Thoroughbred Cross Country 2-Mile Run on Saturday, August 11th at 10:00 a.m. on the school’s campus.  The run is open to all alumni and their spouses.  You need not have been a cross-country runner to enter.  A "FunRun" for kids will be held at 9:30 a.m. with all participants receiving ribbons.  The run will be followed by lunch.  A medal ceremony will also be held for the top seven finishers.  For more information, contact Dave Ueding at 292-0001.

SIXTY-MINUTE LEGAL CHECK-UP   will be offered at St. Charles Care Center on Thursday, August 23rd at 7:00 p.m.  This free seminar will be held in the conference room, level “C” of St. CharlesLodge, 600 Farrell Dr., (off of Kyles Lane), Ft. Wright.  Professionals will explore guardianship vs.power of attorney, wills & probate, beneficiary designation, healthcare documents & HIPAA regulations.  Speakers will also address individual questions.  For more information, please call 331-3224. 

COOK POSITION    St. Charles Care Center located in Covington is currently looking to hire a full-time cook.  St. Charles offers excellent compensation, day shift hours, (6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.) and competitive benefits.  Those interested are asked to call 331-3224 for additional information.

MADONNA HOUSE OF NORTHERN KENTUCKY   has a resident in critical need of a safe vehicle for transportation to and from work and school.  If you can donate such a car, please call the office at 344-1191 or send an email to cynthia.scroggins@madonnahousenky.org.

ECHO SOUP KITCHEN   is in need of volunteer groups for weekend meals.  There are still several dates available for any group that would like to help out.  These groups usually plan the meal, buy the food, cook the day of, and then serve the meal during our 4:00 - 5:50 dinnertime.  This can be done with as few as 8 people to as many as 15.  If you are interested in this great volunteer opportunity, please call Karen Yates at 261-5857.  She will explain how this works and what all is entailed in the project.  This is great for youth groups, Sunday school classes, families, neighborhoods or work place friends.  Come and help feed the poor and homeless in our community.  If the dates are not filled, we have to close and not serve a meal that day.
