CAFETERIA
WORKERS NEEDED
Anyone interested in working in the Cafeteria this coming school year,
please call Judy Leick at 781-3890. Report time is 10:45 and depending
on whether you stay for lunch you can be finished by 12:30. The kids love
seeing a familiar face, (mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, aunt, uncle) during lunch
so if interested give me a call. You only have to work once a month.
ATTENTION
HEALTH MINISTRY VOLUNTEERS Please
submit volunteer hours and committee name for July to Cheri Hunter by
email at cheri_hunter2000@yahoo.com,
phone at 781-4507, or leave a note in the box by the parking lot door.
If you have any unreported hours from other months, just submit those
with the May hours. The hours are
reported to St. Elizabeth on a quarterly basis
- so you are never too late to report hours.
Thanks again for your help in this matter.
WHAT
IS RCIA? The
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the sacramental formation
process that prepares individuals for a particular way of life - as a member of
the Roman Catholic Church. Conversion is at the heart of that way of life.
The initiation of new members can only take place within the context of a
community of believers. The initiation of adults is the responsibility of
all the baptized. How can parish members become involved in the RCIA process?
One of the most essential parts of the formation process is the identification
of candidates. This is one instance where members of our faith community
play a vital role. Is there someone in your life who has expressed an
interest in knowing more about our faith? Do you have a spouse, neighbor,
co-worker, or anyone who has spoken with you about this subject? Ninety
percent of our candidates come from referrals of parish members. If you
have someone in your life that would like to consider the possibility of
becoming a Catholic, please call or have the potential candidate call the parish
office (441-1352), Jeff Rosenstiel (803-3434), or Paul Meisenhelder (491-9455).
The RCIA classes begin on Thursday, September 20th, at 7:30
p.m. in the room next to the school library. Please reach out to potential
candidates and encourage them to
make the call or volunteer to do so for them.
IN OUR DIOCESE
ARE YOU THE MOTHER OF AN NCC STUDENT? If so, start the NCC school year off by making plans to attend the Mother's Club "Get Acquainted Night" on Wednesday, August 22nd. All you have to do is show up and bring a side dish or dessert to share. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 7:00 p.m. This night will be a casual social night in the NCC cafeteria and an opportunity for you to meet other NCC moms and help be a part of a fun new school year. To RSVP, please contact Diane Reincke at 781-2332 or email her at reincked@nku.edu by August 16th. Or you can visit www.ncchs.com to download a reservation flyer.
HEALING
MASS St. Thomas Church will be celebrating their annual Healing
Mass on Monday, August 27th, at 7:00 p.m. Please
plan on attending this beautiful and meaningful event, praying not only for
physical healing, but emotional healing as well. For additional
information call Barb Hagedorn at
781-2223 or the rectory at 441-1282.
DOMESTIC
NEEDS COMBINED COLLECTION Next
weekend, there will be a special Diocesan collection to support the ministries
of the Catholic Communications Campaign, the Black & Indian Mission Appeal,
the Catholic Campaign for Human Development, the Catholic University of America,
Thomas More College and the Catholic Home Missions Appeal.
Gifts to our Diocesan Domestic Needs Combined Collection help bring
stories of the Good News of God's love to those living in poverty, to ethnic
and racial groups in need of pastoral care, to Catholics living in poor and
remote mission territories, to college students, and to TV, newspaper and radio
audiences. You will receive a
brochure and Appeal letter in the mail. Use
the envelope included in the mailing or the one found in your parish envelope
box to make a generous donation to help Strengthen Your Church at Home.
Make your checks payable to the Domestic Needs Collection. Please remember your one gift is divided among six Catholic
organizations.

THANK YOU
I would like to
take this opportunity to say thank you for a very blessed time here at St.
Catherine's. In my short stay, I have come to love this Parish family and will
miss each one of you very much. Although I know I need to return to the seminary
to continue my studies, it is difficult to leave such a warm and friendly group
of people. I do look forward to seeing you when I return for the holidays and
school breaks. If you wish to stay in touch, the following is my contact
information.
