PLEASE TAKE NOTE     Due to the Feast of the Assumption, (which is a holy day of obligation), the parish office will be closed on Wednesday, August 15th. 

HOMILIES ON CD     Fr. Stef’s July homilies are now available on CD and can be picked up in the back of church or in the parish office. 

RECEPTION FOR BOB ROTTGERS     will be held today, August 12th in McCrystal Hall after the 11:30 a.m. mass.  The reception will be a celebration of Bob’s candidacy to the priesthood and a send-off as he will be leaving St. Catherine on August 17th.  Please stop by to congratulate, say good-bye and thank Bob for all he has done for this parish in the last several months.

AT LONG LAST  - THE PICTORIAL DIRECTORIES ARE HERE!  If your family was photographed or you ordered a directory, they will be in the back of church during weekend masses, or you can stop by the Church Office between 9:00 a.m. & 3:00 p.m. and pick up your copy.  

ROSARY FOR MARYBETH MEISENHELDER     will be held after the 7:00 PM mass on Wednesday, Aug. 15th (Feast of the Assumption) for a successful surgery and recovery. Please join us in this powerful prayer of Mary.

FORESTER DAY AT CONEY ISLAND   will be on Sunday, August 19th.  The day will include admission to all rides, swimming at Sunlite Pool, free soft drinks and ice cream.  Admission tickets are normally $15.50, but with the State Court helping out tickets will be $8.00 for all Forester members, and parking tickets are $5.00. CAFETERIA WORKERS NEEDED   Anyone interested in working in the Cafeteria this coming school year, please call Judy Leick at 781-3890.  Report time is 10:45 and depending on whether you stay for lunch you can be finished by 12:30.  The kids love seeing a familiar face, (mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, aunt, uncle) during lunch so if interested give me a call.  You only have to work once a month. 

SERVICE OPPORTUNITY    Interfaith Hospitality Network needs volunteers for our next rotation at Christ Church on August 27th, 28th & 29th.  The sign-up poster will be at the Rossford Avenue exit of church beginning August 11. Please help bring the Light of Christ to a homeless family by sharing a little of your time, love and caring. Call Lisa Walburg at 441-4964 for more information or to volunteer.

PANCAKE BREAKFAST    Sponsored by the Foresters and the Belize Mission Group will be held on Sunday, September 2nd  in McCrystal Hall after the 9:00 a.m. mass.  Free will donations will be accepted to support the Belize mission trip.  Stop by after mass, (or before 11:30 mass), and enjoy a delicious breakfast with fellow parishioners while supporting a worthy cause!

ATTENTION HEALTH MINISTRY VOLUNTEERS   Please submit volunteer hours and committee name for July to Cheri Hunter by email at cheri_hunter2000@yahoo.com, phone at 781-4507, or leave a note in the box by the parking lot door.  If you have any unreported hours from other months, just submit those with the May hours.  The hours are reported to St. Elizabeth on a quarterly basis  - so you are never too late to report hours.  Thanks again for your help in this matter.

 IN OUR DIOCESE

ARE YOU THE MOTHER OF AN NCC STUDENT?   If so, start the NCC school year off by making plans to attend the Mother's Club "Get Acquainted Night" on Wednesday, August 22nd.  All you have to do is show up and bring a side dish or dessert to share.  Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 7:00 p.m.  This night will be a casual social night in the NCC cafeteria and an opportunity for you to meet other NCC moms and help be a part of a fun new school year.  To RSVP, please contact Diane Reincke at 781-2332 or email her at reincked@nku.edu by August 16th.  Or you can visit www.ncchs.com to download a reservation flyer. 

ST. MARY OF THE ASSUMPTION PARISH FESTIVAL - will be held Saturday, August 18th from 5:00 to 11:30 P.M. and Sunday, August 19th from 12:00 to 7:00 P.M.  Chicken and roast beef dinners will be served on Sunday from 12:00 to 6:30 P.M.  Carryouts will be available.  Highlights include live entertainment, rides, games, raffles and a strolling balloon clown just to name a few.  The festival is located on the school grounds with plenty of parking in the church parking lot.  For questions/directions, call (859)635-4188.

 HEALING MASS     St. Thomas Church will be celebrating their annual Healing Mass on Monday, August 27th, at 7:00 p.m.  Please plan on attending this beautiful and meaningful event, praying not only for physical healing, but emotional healing as well.  For additional information call Barb Hagedorn at

ELSEWHERE

HEALING MASS    to be held at Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Center, Wednesday, August 22nd. Come and experience Jesus' healing power in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.  There will be exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, prayers for healing after Mass, followed by benediction.  The Rosary is at 6:30 p.m. and Mass begins at 7:15 p.m.  If you have any questions, please call (513)351-9800. 

SIXTY-MINUTE LEGAL CHECK-UP   will be offered at St. Charles Care Center on Thursday, August 23rd at 7:00 p.m.  This free seminar will be held in the conference room, level "C" of St. Charles Lodge, 600 Farrell Dr., (off of Kyles Lane), Ft. Wright.  Professionals will explore guardianship vs. power of attorney, wills & probate, beneficiary designation, healthcare documents & HIPAA regulations.  Speakers will also address individual questions.  For more information, please call 331-3224.

ATTENTION NORTHERN KENTUCKY UNIVERSITY STUDENTS    and parents - Alumni Opening School Mass will be held on Sunday, August 26, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Farris Amphitheater followed by a cookout in UC Plaza.  All are invited.

MADONNA HOUSE OF NORTHERN KENTUCKY   has a resident in critical need of a safe vehicle for transportation to and from work and school.  If you can donate such a car, please call the office at 344-1191 or send an email to cynthia.scroggins@madonnahousenky.org

ECHO SOUP KITCHEN   is in need of volunteer groups for weekend meals.  There are still several dates available for any group that would like to help out.  These groups usually plan the meal, buy the food, cook the day of, and then serve the meal during our 4:00 - 5:50 dinnertime.  This can be done with as few as 8 people to as many as 15.  If you are interested in this great volunteer opportunity, please call Karen Yates at 261-5857.  She will explain how this works and what all is entailed in the project.  This is great for youth groups, Sunday school classes, families, neighborhoods or work place friends.  Come and help feed the poor and homeless in our community.  If the dates are not filled, we have to close and not serve a meal that day.
