MISSION APPEAL
Next
weekend we will welcome Rev. Dante Mejillano SSS of the Congregation of the
Blessed Sacrament to our parish. He
comes to St. Catherine as part of the Missionary Co-operative Plan that takes
place each year in all of the (Arch)Dioceses of our country.
The Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament does evangelization work in
much of Asia, especially Sri Lanka, India, Vietnam, and the Philippines as well
as in the Congo and Uganda in Africa. There will be a second collection taken to
support these efforts.
TEEN VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Vacation
Bible School, August 6th -10th, is in need of volunteers
from 7th-12th grade.
This is a great way to earn service hours. If you are able to help out, please call Heather Stuempel at

25TH AND 50TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY MASS
for the diocese will be held on Sunday, September
16th. If you are
celebrating you 25th or 50th wedding anniversary in 2007
and would like to receive an invitation to this special mass, please call the
parish office at 441-1352 by Wednesday, August 1st.
Contacting the office is not a reservation it will just put you on the
list to receive an invitation from the diocese.
FAMILIES WITH INCOMING FIRST GRADERS
Parish families
with children entering the first grade of the public school system for 2007 -
2008 should register those children for the CCD program as soon as possible.

sponsored by the Foresters will be held after the 11:30 Mass on July
29th in McCrystal Hall. All are welcome to come. If you attend
another mass that week, come back about 12:30 and join in the fun!
CAFETERIA
WORKERS NEEDED
Anyone interested in working in the Cafeteria this coming school year,
please call Judy Leick at 781-3890. Report time is 10:45 and depending
on whether you stay for lunch you can be finished by 12:30. The kids love
seeing a familiar face, (mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, aunt, uncle) during lunch
so if interested give me a call. You only have to work once a month.

parking lot door. If you have any unreported hours from other months, just
submit those with the June ours. The hours are now reported to St. Elizabeth on
a quarterly basis – so you are never too late to report hours. Thanks again

NEWPORT CENTRAL CATHOLIC will host its 24th Annual Alumni
Thoroughbred Cross Country 2-Mile Run on Saturday, August 11th
at 10:00 a.m. on the school's campus. The
run is open to all alumni and their spouses.
You need not have been a cross-country runner to enter.
A “FunRun” for kids will be held at 9:30 a.m. with all participants
receiving ribbons. The run will be
followed by lunch. A medal ceremony
will also be held for the top seven finishers.

HEALING MASS
Come and experience Jesus' healing power in the Holy Sacrifice of
the Mass. There will be exposition
of the Blessed Sacrament, and prayers for healing will be available after Mass,

help young pregnant women who enter their centers seeking counsel for an
unplanned pregnancy. Won’t you consider being the hands and feet of Christ in

EUCHARISTIC MINISTER VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
at the St. Luke Hospitals is need of volunteers to serve either on an
ongoing basis or on their substitute list.
Receiving the Eucharist while in the hospital can be a great source of
comfort to patients. Becoming a
Eucharistic Minister is very easy and requires minimal training.

ATHENAEUM NOTES Registration for courses offered during the Athenaeum of Ohio's autumn quarter (September 4 - November 12) is now open to the public. Courses are $290.00 per credit hour.
