PLEASE TAKE NOTE   The date for the Parish Lenten Penance Service has been changed to Thursday, March 29th.  Please make note of this on your calendar!  Also, Exposition and Benediction will be canceled on March 27th, due to the DPAA dinner and on April 3rd, due to the Chrism mass.  

DON'T FORGET   Social Life will be sponsoring another fish fry next Friday, March 23rd beginning at 4:30 p.m.  Once again, the famous Green Derby fish will be featured.  Don’t bother cooking, just bring the whole family for a night of good food and good company!   

LENTEN SERIES SPEAKER   Remember Mass this Wednesday, March 21st is at 7:00 p.m.,  followed by another installment of our Lenten Series.  Our presenter this week will be Fr. Stef.  He will be speaking on "Conversion."  Please join us.   

THE LENTEN LECTURE SERIES is available on CD. The first two programs from the Lenten Lecture Series are available on CD and can be picked up at the Parish office.  The CD includes  "Ash Wednesday - The Doorway to Lent" by Fr. Stef Bankemper and the "Baptism and Lent" by Bob Rottgers.

KEENELAND BUS TRIP    sponsored by the Boosters.  This event is open to anyone.  The date is  Friday, April 27th, 2007. The bus will leave after 9:00 mass, returning from Keeneland after the 9th race. Non-refundable cost will run $25/person, which includes bus, drinks and snacks on the bus, and a reserved seat admission ticket to Keeneland.  Deadline for reserving a seat will be March 23rd.  After the 23rd, no guarantee of a spot and the cost goes up to $30.00. Checks should be made out to St. Catherine Boosters.  Address envelopes to "Keeneland", include with your payment names, phone number, and email address.  Don't delay in sending in your reservation, only a few seats are left.  Any questions, call Stan Van Lierop at 441-5536. 

 

FR. COMER'S INTRIGUING TALK ON CD  You can purchase Fr. Mike’s talk that he gave on March 4th on The End Of Times And Will You Be Left Behind.  CD's will be available in the church office for the price of $1.00.  If you have any questions, call Terri 441-3438 or Sharon 441-1069.

 

 SCRIP NEWS   Remember that scrip gift certificates are available Mon. - Fri. in the parish office as well as after every weekend mass.  We have something for all your shopping needs as well as your gift-giving needs!  This is an easy and effective way to earn money for our parish.  Since everyone puts gas in their car, goes out to eat and to the grocery, why not earn money for St. Catherine while doing it? 

 

 MARK YOUR CALENDARS    St. Catherine Vacation Bible School will be held the week of August 6th - 10th.  More information will follow in future bulletins.

 IN OUR DIOCESE

JAMMIN ON THE HILL  featuring the band Fast Forward will be held Saturday, March 31st at  Newport Central Catholic. Doors will open at 7:00 p.m. and the band will play from 8:30 – 12:30. There will be a few casino tables set up as well as a super split the pot, jewelry raffle, theme baskets and a few silent auction items will also be a part of the festivities.  Admission is $25 per person and will include hors d’oeuvres, soft drinks, draft beer and wine .  Tickets will be available by stopping by NCC during school hours.  This event is sponsored by the NewCath Mother’s Club and all proceeds will  benefit the NCC students.

 CHRIST'S RADIANT LOVE IS THE ONLY LIGHT    Some are called to go to the missions to serve. Others, most of us, are called to go to the missions by praying and giving.  Today our collection is for the support of the mission work of the International Church.  Five mission organizations are supported by our gifts to our Diocesan International Mission Needs Collection.  The work of these groups, done out of love and faithfulness to God, bring light and life to a world of darkness.  Our church, with your help, can pass through the midst of this darkness and continue its work of salvation.  Please give generously - if not today, then next weekend.

CHRISM MASS   The Most Reverend Roger J. Foys invites you to attend the celebration of the Chrism Mass to be held at the Cathedral on Tuesday, April 3rd, at 7:00 p.m.  This mass is the only occasion when as many catholics as possible celebrate the Eucharist together with their priests, and  representatives from every facet of catholic life.  We come together as one church to celebrate one Eucharist.  Please join us.
