SOUPER BOWL OF CARING - Thank you to all who contributed so generously to our students who collected donations in soup pots after each Mass last weekend. We collected just over $800.00, which will be placed in the St. Catherine Emergency Fund to help our neighbors in need.

 ATTENTION HEALTH MINISTRY VOLUNTEERS    Please submit volunteer hours and committee name for January to Cheri Hunter by email at cheri_hunter2000@yahoo.com, by phone at 781-4507, or leave a note in the box by the parking lot door.  If you have any unreported hours from other months, just submit those with the January hours.  The hours are reported to St. Elizabeth on a quarterly basis – so you are never too late to report hours.  Thanks again for your help in this matter.

MOTHER-DAUGHTER COMMUNICATIONS DAY   to be held at Moye Spiritual Center, Melbourne, on Sunday, February 25th, 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.  This is a special day for mothers and their high school daughters.  The program will include effective communication exercises and opportunities to practice these new skills together. Diane Mushaben, family therapist with Catholic Social Services, will lead and facilitate the day.  The fee of $25.00 per family includes lunch and materials. TEENS AND PARENTS!     St. Elizabeth Medical Center and the Diocese of Covington Pro-Life Commission presents "It's the Game of Your Life, Know the Score", Wednesday, March 7th at 7:00 p.m., Drawbridge Inn, Ft. A CARING PRESENCE The St. Luke Hospitals are introducing a new support group for patients and their caregivers who are dealing with chronic illnesses. The focus of the group will be to meet the spiritual needs of these patients and their caregivers, and to help them through their difficult time.  The group will meet from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month in the waiting area of the St. Luke East Cancer Treatment Center.  (This month’s meeting is on this Tuesday, February 13th.)  If you have any questions about this program, you can call Debbie Truesdell at 781-2143. 

CHOLESTEROL: LOOKING AT THE NUMBERS   This interactive session will be taught by David McClure, R.N. on February 15th, 6:30 p.m. at the Campbell County Extension Office, 3500  Alexandria Pike, Highland Heights. Registration is required by calling 572-2600 by Tuesday, February 13th.  Cholesterol lowering is important.  Whether an individual has heart disease or wants to prevent it, one can reduce his or her risk for having a heart attack by lowering the numbers.  Learn how to take a heart healthy role. 

ANSWER THE CALL 2007”  the annual Catholic Men’s Conference will be held at Music Hall in Cincinnati on Saturday, March 3rd  from 8:45 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.  This is the thirteenth year in a row that the conference has been held in Cincinnati, and it will bring together men from across the area who are seeking God’s face for a prayerful, spirit-filled, life changing day.  We will hear a number of inspirational speakers who will talk about their faith and how we men can grow spiritually and enrich our relationships in family, marriage, parish and the workplace.  There will also be time for fellowship, singing, confessions and Mass.  Ticket price is only $35.00 and includes lunch.  Ask your sons & friends to join you.  Call Jim Stegman for tickets at (859)441-9644. 

THE JEFF MCGUIGGAN MEMORIAL 29TH ANNUAL VOLLEYBALL MARATHON  To be  held on March 9th & 10th.  The proceeds from this event will benefit Madonna House of N. Ky., a redirective apartment facility for single mothers and their babies, which provides a place for them to learn and grow when they might otherwise be homeless.  Madonna House teaches young women responsibility, and independence in a Christian setting.  The marathon will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 9th and continue until 10 p.m. on Saturday, March 10th.  The site will be the Northern Ky. University Albright Health Center, Main Activity Area. Each team will consist of six to nine players of any age playing for one hour.  Each player will be responsible for raising at least $15 to play and will receive a commemorative T-shirt.  Prizes will be awarded to those who raise the most in sponsorship money.  Form your team now and contact Carol Baker at 331-4913 to reserve you team’s playing time.

 HELP NEEDED    A volunteer receptionist is needed at Catholic Social Services to answer the telephone and greet visitors.  Time required is 4 hours per week.  Shifts are from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. and 5 p.m.– 8 p.m.  Ongoing training is provided.  Other volunteer opportunities are available.  Please call Joy Boothby at 581-8974.
