IN OUR PARISH

WE EXTEND OUR MOST HEARTFELT SYMPATHY   to the family of Ed Stieritz, who was buried from our parish last week.  Ed was an integral part of St. Catherine parish, as well as the diocese of Covington, for many years.  Please remember Charlotte and the rest of Ed’s family in your prayers.

The week before Ed Stieritz died, he sent me a card.  I was going to pass on to you some of what he wrote when he suddenly passed away.  I would still like you to hear one part:  “Please give my love to all those St. Catherine parishioners who called and wrote to me.  It was most gratifying!”  I am sorry that you had to hear it after the funeral, but I wanted you to know that your messages to Ed during his illness were helpful to him and appreciated.     Fr. Stef

NEW HYMNALS    Many of you may have noticed the new hymnals in church.  However, you may not have noticed that they include the readings for Sunday mass.  Now, you can follow along with the readings, if you choose.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE   Due to the upcoming holidays, any submissions for the December 29th/30th   bulletin must be to the parish office by Tuesday, December 18th.   Submissions for the January 5th/6th bulletin must be received by Wednesday, December 26th.  Thank you for your attention to this matter.

ADORATION HOURS EXTENDED THROUGH ADVENT   Please take note that during Advent, adoration will begin at 3:00 p.m. and Benediction will be at 8:45 p.m.  Confessions will remain at 5:30 p.m.

ST CATHERINE GOES CHRISTMAS CAROLING   Would you like to bring peace, joy and love to others this Advent season? Then join us as we go Christmas caroling today, Sunday, December 16th at the Barrington and Highland Springs. Please gather in St Catherine’s parking lot at 5:30 p.m. This event gives true meaning to the season.  For questions please contact Nancy Miller 781-0097.

CHRISTMAS IS COMING      If you would like to give Fr. Stef a Christmas gift but aren’t sure what he needs, we are once again taking up a collection for his gift. We thought it best to have him decide what to buy.  If you would like to contribute, please drop your donation at the church, CCD or school office or give it to Terri Babey, Bev Stegman, Kim Lampe, or Sandy Nagel. Make sure to include your family name to put on the Christmas Card.   Thank you, Terri Babey

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED   to help clean the church once a month.  Our dedicated cleaning crew is in need of a few more helpers.  They meet on the first Thursday of the month immediately after 8:00 a.m. mass and are usually finished around 10:00 a.m. This is not only a great stewardship opportunity, but also a chance to get to know some of your fellow parishioners better.  If you would like to join this wonderful group, please call the parish office, 441-1352.

PRE-K RELIGION     now is the time to sign up your 3-5 year old for Pre-K Religion.  Enrollment forms can be found at the back of Church following mass this Sunday or in the school office with Betsy Stegner.  Classes will begin the first Sunday in January during the 9am mass time.  We hope to see you there.  Any questions call Candace Doepker 859-572-0113.
