IN OUR PARISH

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!!!   Be sure to join us for the Parish Clean-up Day in church today, Sunday, November 18th after the 11:30 mass.  Pizza and soft drinks will be provided to the workers.  This is a great way to meet fellow parishioners, spend time with your friends and family and teach your children what stewardship is all about.  If you cannot make it on this day, but would still like to help clean the church, please call the parish office, there is a list of jobs that need to be completed. 

SERVERS'AND EUCHARISTIC MINISTER SCHEDULES    are now in the Usher's room.  If you have not already picked up your schedule, please do so as soon as possible.

 FR. STEF'S HOMILIES ON CD   The October homilies are now available and can be picked up in the back of church or in the parish office. 

ATTENTION ALL FORMER GREETERS    please return your name badge either to the ushers at the weekend masses or you can put it in the mail slot by the parish office door.  It is important that these badges be returned, as we have been unable to find any place that carries them.

LOVE BOAT 2008 IS QUICKLY APPROACHING!   We need your help! Please consider donating $20 per family.  Your donations will be used for the Honolulu Treasures, Class Creations, as well as other items for the event.  You may drop off your donation to the school or Church office.  Feel free to drop your donation into the offertory basket on Sunday.  Be sure your envelope is clearly marked "LB 08".  All checks should be made payable to St. Catherine.  Please consider volunteering to help with this event.  Visit the St. Catherine website at www.stcatherineofsiena.org and look for the  "Love Boat" tab for a complete listing of committees and volunteer sheet.   Forms can be returned to the school or Church office, as well as the offertory basket.

 

FAMILY LUNCH WITH ST. NICK   Sponsored by the Foresters and Social Life Committee – Sunday, December 2nd  from 12:30-2:30 in McCrystal Hall.  There will be lunch, story of St. Nick and crafts.  We ask each child to please bring a coloring book and 24 pack of crayons for St. Nick to distribute to other children.  Please RSVP by Tuesday, November 27th to Lisa Wormald at 781-6280 or Lwormald@fuse.net with your name and number of adults and children attending. 

ATTENTION HEALTH MINISTRY VOLUNTEERS   Please submit volunteer hours and committee name for October to Cheri Hunter by email at cheri_hunter2000@yahoo.com, phone at 781-4507, or leave a note in the box by the parking lot door.  If you have any unreported hours from other months, just submit those with the May hours.  The hours are reported to St. Elizabeth on a quarterly basis  - so you are never too late to report hours.  Thanks again for your help in this matter. 

AUDITION TIME   Calling all actors, dancers, singers, and more…The St. Catherine Players will be putting on Bye Bye Birdie, a wildly fun 50's-themed musical about teenagers, young love, and rock 'n roll, this coming spring and we need you. To learn more about the play, attend a read-through this coming Wednesday, November 14th at 7:45pm in McCrystal Hall. And then audition! Auditions are open to everyone—no experience required—and will take place Sunday, November 18 and Sunday, December 2, both at 7pm in McCrystal Hall. There will be roles for young and old, as well as opportunities to help behind the scenes with sets, lighting, sound, and more. ADVERTISING OPPORTUNITY   We are in the process of updating our annual Guide Book and Directory for our parish.  This book will be the Who, What, Where, When, and How of our church.  The book is being provided at no cost to our parish.  Local businesses are being solicited to advertise in this book.  What better place to publicize your service or product than to the community in which you worship and are already recognized.  To find out more about advertising in our book, please call the Church office at 441-1352. 

 SAVE THE DATE   The next Women's CRHP weekend is February 9th and 10th and is open to all women of the parish.  The next Men's CRHP Weekend will be February 16th and 17th and is open to all men of the parish.  Prayerfully consider this opportunity to renew yourself and the parish.  What a wonderful way to begin a new year.  Anyone interested or for more information please contact Wade Smith (men) at 442-5333 or Sheila Carroll (women) at 491-8771.

COMING HOME SERIES   The Cathedral of the Assumption is having three come home sessions. These sessions are for people who have left the Church and want to return. The Sessions will be held on three consecutive Mondays, December 3rd, 10th and 17th at 7:30 p.m. These sessions are designed to support and assist people who have questions about the Church or about returning. The sessions will be focused on the sacraments, the Mass and the sacrament of reconciliation. For more information or questions call Margie at 341-3066.

VOLUNTEERS DESPARATELY NEEDED    Carmel Manor is looking for volunteers to meet their many needs: Nail Clinic, feedings, bingo, helping with outings, etc.  If you have an interest to help others, please give Laura Heins a call at 781-5111.  This would be a great way for high school students to earn service hours.

 

ADVENT PRAYER SERVICE   at St Mary's Church on Monday, November 26th at 7:00 p.m. The prayer service will consist of reflections and carols and be a wonderful beginning to the upcoming Advent season.

 

MASS AND HEALING SERVICE   Come and experience Jesus' healing power in the Holy Sacrifice of he Mass on Wednesday, November 28th. There will be exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. Prayers for healing will be available after Mass, followed with Benediction. Come join us as we give thanks and praise to God for all our spirit blessings as we continue to ask for all our spiritual blessings as we continue to ask for healing, conversion, peace and unity for our lives, as well as for our families, communities, and our nation.
