IN OUR PARISH

PLEASE TAKE NOTE   Due to the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, any articles for the November 25th bulletin must be received in the office no later than noon on Thursday, November 15th.

PASTORAL COUNCIL   will be meeting a week early this month.  The meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 14th immediately following Mass in the Library.

THANK YOU   to Carol Gessner for all of the time and effort she put into organizing and giving flu shots the weekend of Oct 21st . This was a wonderful service offered to the people of St Catherine and we thank her for the gift of her time.

THANK YOU     "I want to thank all the parishioners who helped with driving me to and from my physical therapy after my shoulder surgery.  You were truly exercising your stewardship of time in doing this.  It was a great help because I could not drive for 11 weeks.  Also, thanks to you who sent delicious meals. Thanks to all of you who drove me to Mass and the grocery store.   Sue Perkins coordinated the drivers, you did a great job, thanks Sue.   I am blessed to be a member of the Saint Catherine community.  Thanks again to all who helped me. I will keep you all in my prayers."   Sincerely Bettie Wahlbrink.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!!!   Be sure to join us for the Parish Clean-up Day in church on Sunday, November 18th after the 11:30 mass.  Pizza and soft drinks will be provided to the workers.  This is a great way to meet fellow parishioners, spend time with your friends and family and teach your children what stewardship is all about.  If you cannot make it on this day, but would still like to help clean the church, please call the parish office, there is a list of jobs that need to be completed.

SERVERS' AND EUCHARISTIC MINISTER SCHEDULES    are now in the Usher's room.  If you have not already picked up your schedule, please do so as soon as possible.

FR. STEF'S HOMILIES ON CD   The October homilies are now available and can be picked up in the back of church or in the parish office.

LOVE BOAT 2008 IS QUICKLY APPROACHING!   We need your help! Please consider donating $20 per family.  Your donations will be used for the Honolulu Treasures, Class Creations, as well as other items for the event.  You may drop off your donation to the school or Church office.  Feel free to drop your donation into the offertory basket on Sunday.  Be sure your envelope is clearly marked "LB 08".  All checks should be made payable to St. Catherine.  Please consider volunteering to help with this event.  Visit the St. Catherine website at www.stcatherineofsiena.org and look for the  "Love Boat" tab for a complete listing of committees and volunteer sheet.   Forms can be returned to the school or Church office, as well as the offertory basket.

PRE-K RELIGION IN NEED OF VOLUNTEERS    Have you been wondering how you can give back to the Church, but don’t have a lot of time to spare? We have an opportunity for you!  Pre-K Religion is in need of teachers that are Virtus certified.  We hope to begin offering classes in January and ending in early May, 2008. The time commitment is minimal and you will only “teach” every other Sunday (during 9am mass) which amounts to only 10 classes that you would help prepare. Please consider introducing the concepts of God and Bible stories into the lives of our 3-5 year olds.  Call Candace Doepker at 859-572-0113 for more information.

"UNTIL DEATH DO US PART": A Story of Sacrifice, A Journey to the Priesthood.  Seminarian Bob Rottgers got married, discovered his wife was a recovering addict, and after her death the sacrificial covenant of marriage led him to the sacrificial vocation of the priesthood.  Come support Bob at St. Catherine's Church on Sunday, November 11th at 7:00 pm. Music by Newport Central Catholic Choir. Questions call Terri 441-3438 or Sharon 441-1069.

SERVICE OPPORTUNITY    Interfaith Hospitality Network needs volunteers for our next rotation at Christ Church on November 12th, 13th, & 14th.  The sign-up poster will be at the Rossford Avenue exit of church beginning Oct. 27th. Please help bring the Light of Christ to a homeless family by sharing a little of your time, love and caring. Call Lisa Walburg at 441-4964 for more information or to volunteer.

ST. CATHERINE PLAYERS AUDITIONS FOR "BYE BYE BIRDIE"    Calling all actors, dancers, singers, and more. The St. Catherine Players will be putting on Bye Bye Birdie, a wildly fun 50's themed musical about teenagers, young love, and rock n' roll, this coming spring and we need you. To learn more about the play, attend a read-through this coming Wednesday, November 14th at 7:45pm in McCrystal Hall. And then audition! Auditions are open to everyone-no experience required-and will take place Sunday, November 18th and Sunday, December 2nd, both at 7pm in McCrystal Hall. There will be roles for young and old, as well as opportunities to help behind the scenes with sets, lighting, sound, and more. For more information on auditions or about the St. Catherine Players, contact Producer Allison Klocke at 513-598-5794.

BELIEVE IT OR NOT    Christmas is right around the corner.  Avoid all the traffic and crowds by doing your Christmas shopping through the Scrip Program.  We have something for just about everyone on your list.  Also, for all of you Remke shoppers, please remember to complete the form for the Caring Neighbors Program, which you can pick up at Remke or from the person selling scrip.  For those of you who shop at Kroger, don’t forget to reload your scrip gift cards when you do your grocery shopping.  These are two extremely easy ways to earn money for our parish.  As always, thanks to all those who continually support this program!

ATTENTION HEALTH MINISTRY VOLUNTEERS   Please submit volunteer hours and committee name for October to Cheri Hunter by email at cheri_hunter2000@yahoo.com, phone at 781-4507, or leave a note in the box by the parking lot door.  If you have any unreported hours from other months, just submit those with the May hours.  The hours are reported to St. Elizabeth on a quarterly basis  - so you are never too late to report hours.  Thanks again for your help in this matter.
