NEEDED....1 usher for the 4:30 mass... Are you looking for a way to serve God and your Parish? We are currently in need of an usher for the 4:30 Mass.  Requirements: Must commit to being at 4:30 Mass 75% of the time. Involves taking up of collection, administrating to someone who becomes sick, attending class for CPR and use of the defibrillator if someone needs help. NEW MUSIC DIRECTOR....After more than twenty years of service our music director, Doug Smith, has indicated his desire to move on to other things.  He is not leaving immediately, but has asked me to find someone to fill his position.  We have begun a search for candidates.  When the time is right we will gather to thank Doug properly; in the meantime, please pray that God will send us the right person for such an important part of our staff.

 

MAGAZINE SALE/RENEWAL... As a service to the parish, the school students are selling and renewing magazines. St. Catherine will receive 40% of all sales. If you currently receive a magazine and would like to renew it or would like to order a new magazine, please contact a St. Catherine school child or the school office at 572-2680

 

SCHOOL PTO MEETING... Please join us for the School P.T.O. Meeting on Tuesday, September 26th Social time Begins at 7:00 p.m. followed by the meeting at 7:30 p.m. Hope to see you there! 

 

ATTENTION YOUNG MOTHERS.... FAMILIA is starting a new team on the second and
fourth Tuesday evenings of each month from September 2006 through May 2007 at St. Catherine from 6-7:30 p.m. Babysitting will be provided too!  FAMILIA offers you a chance to grow in your faith through: Gospel reflection, Catechesis, and the teachings of John Paul II. Share with other mothers ways to bring the Catholic faith into your home and to your husbands and children. Please consider this wonderful program for yourself and your family. PREK Religion Reminder...PreK Religion registration closes at the end of this month. Forms are in the back of church. Also, the program is in much need of 3 teachers. It's a lot of fun and since each class is team taught you will only be committing to be there every other Sunday during the PreK year which starts the 1st Sun. in Nov and ends Palm Sunday. Please consider volunteering as this great program will not survive without stewardship..Call Candace Doepker at 572-0113 with any questions to volunteer to help.

ST. CATHERINE PARISH FEST 2006....to be held Sunday, October 1st from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. in the bottom parking lot. Everything is 3 for a $1.00 - hamburgers, hotdogs, brats, metts and refreshments.  Please bring a side dish to share! There will be games for the kids. This is a FUNraiser!

“A NIGHT TO REMEMBER”....Come to the Cabaret!  Save the date, Saturday, October 21st, 7:30 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. in McCrystal Hall. The Social Life Committee is hosting a parish party with wine and cheese as well as other food and drink delicacies, a piano bar, music and singing.  The cost?  Just bring a plate of hors d’oeuvres to share.  Be our guests - let’s make memories. LOOKING FOR A WAY TO SIMPLIFY YOUR LIFE?.....Instead of going from store to store looking for the perfect gift for someone, just stop by the parish office or in the back of church after mass and check out the wide variety of gift certificates available in the scrip program. There is sure to be something to please everyone.   Also, now that school is back in session and sports are in full gear, you may find yourself eating out more often.  If so, scrips has a variety of gift certificates for restaurants and fast food places.  Thank you to all of you that use this program on a regular basis.  To those of you who have never tried it, check it out and see how easy it is to earn money for our parish!

HEALTH SCREENING... St. Therese Health Ministries will be hosting a health fair on Sunday, September 24th from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the school cafeteria. Free Health Screening  including blood pressure, glucose, and cholesterol checks will be offered; as well as chair massages and informative sessions related to other health issues. Mark your calendar and we’ll see you there!

SEAMLESS TRANSITIONS: BRIDGING THE GAP BETWEEN YOUTH MINISTRY AND COLLEGE CAMPUS MINISTRY... Dr. Michael Galligan-Stierle, Ph.D., United States conference of Catholic Bishops, will present a workshop at Thomas More College on Saturday, September 30th  from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m, in Steigerwald Hall. Young adults are invited to join with parents, teachers, youth ministers, campus ministers, and diocesan personnel in a lively discussion about making the transition from high school to college life seamless in our faith lives. DIOCESAN PRO-LIFE MASS....During October, the Catholic Church throughout the United States will celebrate Respect Life Month. Please join us as we celebrate our annual Diocesan Pro-Life Mass with Bishop Roger Foys on Tuesday, October 18th at 7:00 p.m. at the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption. A reception will take place at Howard Hall immediately following the Mass. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend this gathering.

HEALING MASS.... Come join us Wednesday, September 27, at Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Center in Norwood, OH as we give thanks and praise to God for all our spiritual blessings as we continue to ask for healing, conversion, peace and unity for our lives, as well as for our families, communities and our nation. There will be exposition of the Blessed Sacrament.  Prayers for healing will be available after Mass, followed with Benediction.
