Dear St. Catherine of Siena Parishioners,
On Friday, July 21st, I submitted my resignation (effective August 15) to Fr.
Stef as one of the part time secretaries of the parish. This was not an easy
decision for me to make. During the past eight and one half years this parish
has made a great impact on my life. I made friends that have and will always
have a special place in my heart. You brought me closer to God and were a
great influence in my conversion to the Catholic faith. It did not make a
difference when I started here that I was not Catholic. You accepted me as one
of God’s children and made me feel so welcomed. The prayers, support, gifts,
love and friendships that you have shared with Bob and me and our family during
his illness will never be forgotten. I believe the powerful prayer support
that was offered for us, is what got our family through the difficult times.
The comforting calls, visits and support given to Bob and me by Fr. Stef, Fr.
Vater, Fr. Jim and Fr. Dan were so wonderful. The many cards, calls and meals
brought to us at various times was the true spirit of Christian Community in
action. We have laughed and cried together over the years. I have seen your
children and grandchildren grow and was so touched when they too offered
prayers for Bob’s recovery. I will cherish the memories always. The
opportunity to obtain employment closer to my home and with my home parish was
a deciding factor in my decision. I have told many of you God led me to St.
Catherine’s for a reason, now He is leading me to Blessed Sacrament Parish for
a reason. I was looking forward to continuing being ½ of our secretarial team,
working with Mary Brzinski our new Business Manager and Fr. Stef. I thought
someday I would retire from St. Catherine’s but God chose another path for me
to follow. Now I am more than eight years older and starting a new job!!
Please know that Fr. Stef, Fr. Vater and you, the members of St. Catherine
Parish will always be in my thoughts and prayers. A huge “Thank You” for
allowing me to be part of St. Catherine Parish.
