BABY BOTTLE CAMPAIGN 2006..... Thank you to everyone who picked up a baby
bottle
last weekend. Please fill the bottle with your spare change and return by
Father's Day. For those who were not here last weekend, extra baby bottles will
be available at the Rossford Avenue exit. All proceeds benefit Care Net

CCD REGISTRATION....Spring registration for 2006 - 2007 continues. Forms and
information can be downloaded from the church website. Please contact David
Kohrs with any questions at 441-1069.
THE CHILDREN OF ST. CATHERINE’S NEEDS YOU!!.....Children’s Liturgy of the Word
(CLOW) is seeking new leadership to continue this ministry. Please consider
stepping forward to serve the children and parish. Needed: a coordinator, new
leaders and helpers during the 9:00 a.m. Mass. Please call Mary Kay (441-7195)
ASAP. If we do not have new leaders - CLOW will end by June of this year.
Please prayerfully consider this call to action.
TRIP TO BELIZE....Final request for our Belize mission trip. Our departure date
of June 11th is drawing very near. We are planning one last spare change
collection next weekend, June 3rd and 4th after all 3 masses. Thanks so much to
all for your overwhelming generosity to our cause! We are so blessed to have
such a wonderful parish family and we ask that you continue to keep us all in
your prayers.
THE ST. CATHERINE 10TH ANNUAL GOLF OUTING....will be held on Thursday, June 8th,
starting at 11:00 am at Hickory Sticks golf course in California, KY. It is an
18 hole scramble including lunch and drinks. Green Derby will be catering a
dinner at St Catherine following the outing. The cost is $65 for golf, $85 for
golf & dinner. We are looking for golfers and helpers. If you are interested in

ST. CATHERINE’S 4-DAY SUMMER FEST BASKET RAFFLE.....This year the goal is to
create five fabulous theme baskets valued at $150 and up! Your help is needed
by donating basket items or by making a monetary donation. Your donation will
be used to create the baskets. Our five themes are Angels Amongst Us; On The
Road Again; The Great Outdoors; That’s Entertainment; and Backyard BBQ. Please
help with your donation by June 2nd. We will be happy to pick up!! Volunteers
are also needed the night of the festival. Let us know if you can work.

KIDS GAMES....Adults and Jr. High students are needed to work the kids games
during the parish festival. This is a great way to give your time to the

HELP HOMELESS FAMILIES....through the Interfaith Hospitality Network , (IHN),
Monday-Wednesday, June 5th - 7th. Assistance is needed transporting families
in the IHN van from Christ Church to the Day Center in Newport, preparing a
meal, hosting dinner, and spending the night. Call Lisa Walburg at 441-4964
for additional information or see the sign-up poster at the Rossford Avenue
exit of church.
THE 2ND ANNUAL 5K COMMUNITY FUN RUN/WALK.....Saturday, June 10th. Check in at
6:30 a.m. at St. Catherine Church. Runners start at 7:00 a.m., walkers at 7:30
a.m. Pre-registration before May 27th is $10 per person, $25 per family
includes t-shirt. Late registration is the same cost but no t-shirt.
Registration forms are available at the church and school offices. Questions -

ARE YOU A MORNING PERSON?....Volunteers are needed to help with the registration
and course for the Community Fun Walk/Run on June 10th. Contact Jeff Camm at

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL....JULY 31ST - August 4th from 9 - 11:45 a.m. -
“Sontreasure Island - registration for 4 year olds-6th graders, forms will be
available on the St. Catherine website beginning May 4th. Forms may also be
picked up in the school or parish office or in the back of church. Cost: $20
per child with a $50 maximum for families. Deadline for registration is May
30th. Late registration will be charged a $5 fee. Sign up you children for a
fun week of discovering God’s love! Registration questions, call Amy Mentzer

DPAA UPDATE......Thank You to the 173 parishioners/households who have already
supported the 2006 DPAA. Together we have raised $43,712.00. If you have not
already made your pledge, please consider pledging today or this week. Your
gift will provide care for our elderly clergy, tuition and books for our 15
seminarians, counseling for families and individuals in crisis, support for
women facing an unplanned pregnancy, and food for the hungry and shelter for
the homeless. It is our hope and prayer that we will raise the funds necessary
to continue these vital ministries. Please remember, all monies pledged over
our Diocesan Goal will be returned to the parish. Your pledge will reflect your

a partner in preparing the Messenger for publication. Must be a practicing

SUMMER DAY CAMP VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES....Join the Redwood summer family by
volunteering to help at the nations only accredited Summer Day Camp for Special
Needs. You can work 2 hours a week, 2 hours a day, or 5 days out of 7. The
Camps are 5 days a week from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at: Boone County, (place to be
announced) June 12-August 4, and Ft. Wright Elementary School, June 21 -
August 6. Volunteer opportunities for school aged kids of 14 to 18 years old,
“Peer Mentors” are to help provide a therapeutic recreation program serving
school aged children with disabilities from N. Ky and Southwest Ohio. Hosted
by local elementary and middle schools, campers and volunteers enjoy safe,
