***COLUMN THREE***

Christ is risen!

I missed getting a thank you in last week’s bulletin to all the people who made

our Holy Week services so enriching. Some of the people are visible – thank

you to Doug Smith and all those who took part in the music; I thought the

cantoring was particularly nice this time, especially during the Vigil. Thank

you to the lectors and ushers, and a special thank you to the servers – I was

pleased and proud of how seriously they took their jobs and how well they did

them. Thank you to those who took most of a day to lay mulch and weed and in

general make the campus more beautiful, along with the men’s group delegation,

who mowed the lawn.

Speaking of beautiful brings me to some not-so-visible people. Thank you to

Caroll Barton, Mary Keller, Mary Buten and Mary Brown (there were three Mary’s

at the tomb on Easter morning, too, hmmm) for the wonderful job they did with

decorating the worship space. Tim Reynolds, thank you again for the baptismal

font, and especially for the work, along with your son and others, to utilize

our former baptismal font.

I know I mentioned Mary Brown, but she, along with Judy Leick, did so much

behind the scenes that it would not be an overstatement to say that Holy Week

could barely have happened without them. The list of what they did to prepare

is too long to go into. They know what they did, and I thank them.

I would like to thank all involved in the RCIA. It is a long process –

actually, it is still going on – Jeff Rosenstiel and Paul Meisenhelder, who

co-lead the RCIA this year, and all the team add wonderfully, not only to our

celebration of Holy Week, but to the lives of those coming into the Church.

I apologize if I have forgotten to acknowledge someone. I know many hands were

involved to make Holy Week special.

Finally, I want to thank you who came and participated in the services. We had

good attendance, all in all. These services, as is the case with Mass in

general, are much more fun and meaningful when the community is actually there.

Your participation and prayer helped my participation.

Indeed He is risen!

Fr. Stef
