IN OUR PARISH
WE EXTEND OUR DEEPEST SYMPATHY to the families and friends of Ralph Kohrs and Ethel Chaney, both of whom were recently buried from our parish. May they rest in eternal peace with our Lord.
We would like to offer the parish an opportunity to tithe in a new way. Electronic Funds Transfers (EFT) is a new trend that could make your life a little simpler. EFT would cost you and the parish nothing. If you would like to know more about this process or are interested in beginning to tithe in this manner, please contact Mary Brzinski at 441-1352 or email mbrzinski@stcatherineofsiena.org.
A VERY SPECIAL THANKS We'd like to take this time, especially at this time of year, to say a huge thank you for all of your prayers and concerns for Carlie. God heard our prayers for her health and He did answer them! Carlie got the best results from her medical tests for which we could have hoped! Our family was moved by the parish's concern and compassion for Carlie once again, and for it we are truly grateful! Thanks so much, The McMahon Family
REMEMBER
TO VISIT THE JESSE TREE this weekend. This
year, our parish will be
providing Christmas gifts for Birthright, Fort Thomas VA Nursing Home &
Domiciliary, Franciscan Daughters of Mary, Madonna House, Project Merry
Christmas in Vanceburg, Kentucky, St. Catherine parishioners and other local
families in need. You will be able to select gift tags from the Jesse Tree
in the church's prayer/meditation space (former baptistry) this weekend and
next. Please wrap gifts only if indicated on the tag. Gifts, with
tags attached, should be returned to the Jesse Tree area by Sunday,
December 17, 12:30 p.m. For those interested in
helping but unable to shop, monetary donations will be gladly accepted.
Call Tish Gayle (781-4911) to make arrangements or if you have any questions.
UPCOMING FORESTER EVENT Rollerskating at RECA Roller Rink, Tuesday, December 5th. Please join all the local courts from 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. for an evening of skating. There is no charge for youth Forester members.
PARISH ADVENT PENANCE SERVICE
Will be held on Tuesday, December 12th at 7:00 p.m.
Advent is a wonderful time to receive the Sacrament of Penance as we prepare
ourselves for the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Please plan to attend.
ALTERNATIVE
CHRISTMAS Don't
give another "thing" this Christmas that will soon be forgotten.
Give a gift that will improve the life of someone locally, nationally or
internationally. HOW? Make a donation to one of the organizations on the
Alternative Christmas Shopping List. Stop by the display found on the ledge at
either side entrance. The amounts noted on the Shopping Lists are only
suggestions. The need is great. Please be as generous as you can.
Contributions will be accepted until Christmas Eve for last minute shoppers.
Questions? Call JoAnn Schwartz at 781-2427.
CHRISTMAS MEMORIAL FLOWERS....Remember a loved one by placing flowers in the church during the Christmas season. Please use the envelope from your packet for this occasion. NEWS: We thank all our customers who are buying their Scrips early for
Christmas!! Thanks also to the
number of parishioners who are buying Scrips for their employees' gifts and for
every day expenses!! Please return your orders to the sellers after
church, at the Parish Office or to the School office. We would appreciate
the orders being returned by Monday December 11. This hopefully will
insure that the orders will be filled. Last year several shortages were
experienced the closer we got to Christmas. If you go to www.glscrip.com,
a complete list of retailers will be available. Also, Kohl's and
JCPenney's will allow you to use Scrip cards to pay your charges at the store!
Any questions, please call Gail Williams at 781-6967 or Kathy Saalfeld at
781-2802. You may also email an order to saalfeldkathy@hotmail.com.
GIFTS OF TIME AND TALENT NEEDED
Looking for that special way to contribute to your parish?
We need a group of people to wash and iron the servers’ albs
periodically. We would like to set
up a schedule similar to how the linens are done.
You can choose how often you would like to help, either every other month
or a few times a year. If you can
offer your time and talent to help with this, please call Judy Leick at
781-3890.
YOU ARE INVITED!
The time is now to sign up to participate in the upcoming Christ Renews

IN OUR
DIOCESE
RETIREMENT FUND FOR RELIGIOUS Next week’s appeal asks us to recall those women
and men religious whose ministry has nourished our own faith, served our church,
and strengthened our nation. Today,
more than 37,000 women and men religious are past age 70. Their institutes face critical economic challenges as the
costs of health care escalate and as the need for handicapped-accessible housing
increases. Please give generously.
