NEW MUSIC DIRECTOR....After more than twenty years of service our music director, Doug Smith, has indicated his desire to move on to other things.  He is not leaving immediately, but has asked me to find someone to fill his position.  We have begun a search for candidates.  When the time is right we will gather to thank Doug properly; in the meantime, please pray that God will send us the right person for such an important part of our staff.

UPCOMING PRAISE & WORSHIP SPEAKER......Robert Rogers lost his wife and four children during a flash flood in 2003.  Hear his powerful witness as he shares his remarkable testimony of hope and God’s grace through tragedy.  In his words, “God can bring beauty from ashes.  There is peace through Jesus. God is still good, all the time.” Don’t miss this compelling witness at St. Catherine on Sunday, October 15th at 7:00 p.m.  No tickets required - a free will offering will be taken.  Questions, call Terri at 441-3438 or Sharon at 441-1069.

INTERFAITH HOSPITALITY NETWORK.... needs volunteers.  St. Catherine’s next service opportunity is coming October 16,17 & 18 at Christ Church.  The sign-up poster is at the Rossford Ave exit of church. Everyone who can volunteer this rotation is encouraged to invite a friend to come along.  Once you experience this ministry to the homeless, you realize how little effort it takes to make a difference.  Any questions, call Lisa Walburg at 441-4964.

LOOKING FOR A WAY TO SIMPLIFY YOUR LIFE?.....Instead of going from store to store looking for the perfect gift for someone, just stop by the parish office or in the back of church after mass and check out the wide variety of gift certificates available in the scrip program. There is sure to be something to please everyone.   Also, now that school is back in session and sports are in full gear, you may find yourself eating out more often.  If so, scrips has a variety of gift certificates for restaurants and fast food places.  Thank you to all of you that use this program on a regular basis.  To those of you who have never tried it, check it out and see how easy it is to earn money for our parish!
