Former St. Catherine grad, Ian Hamilton, going for National Merit Scholarship

Congratulations to the Elementary Quick Recall Team on their 1st place showing in the Governor's Cup District and regional competitions. The team beat all of the Ft. Thomas elementary school teams in the district. In the written events, Nathan Grosser got two first place ribbons in Math and Social Studies. Jason Thome also won two ribbons placing first in Science and third in Arts and Humanities. Other winners were Laura Bunning who placed 4th in Math and 3rd in Arts and Humanities. Rachel Murrin placed 5th in Science and Madison Little got 4th in Composition and 5th in Language Arts, and Sarah Ruwe placed 2nd in Composition. The Quick Recall team also placed first. Besides Jason, Nathan, Laura, and Rachel, other QR members were Daniel Connolly, Jill Hamilton, Whitney Fields, Maria Hils, and Coleman Holmes.

The team then went on to win the regional by 10 points over 2nd place Grant's Lick. Jason Thome and Nathan Grosser led the team with Jason placing first in Science and 2nd in Arts and Humanities while Nathan placed first in Social Studies and third in Math. Laura Bunning placed fifth in both Math and Arts and Humanities. Rachel Murrin placed 3rd in Science and Madison Little took 4th in Language Arts.  The Quick Recall team also placed first. Besides Jason, Nathan, Laura, and Rachel, other QR members were Daniel Connolly, Jill Hamilton, Whitney Fields, Maria Hils, and Coleman Holmes. Congratulations to Mrs. Rahali and her team! Great job.

Congratulations to Liz Grothaus, an 8th grader at St. Catherine, who is a finalist in the Diocesan Pro Life Essay Contest. Congratulations to Liz and Mrs. Seta. 

Congratulations to this year's Spelling Bee winners. At the junior high level, Joe Brennan placed first with Abby Schwarber taking second. Good luck to Joe as he moves on to the regional competition!!! 

Congratulations to the following 8th graders on their performance on the NCC Entrance Exam; Cole Little got a full scholarship to NCC and Amy Schwarber and Joe Brennan got a 50% tuition for the coming school year. Great job Cole, Amy, and Joe!
